I need a Youtube client for my SmartTV that provides me with auto-translation feature which is available on desktop version of Youtube. Does such a thing exist?

My parents have finally decided to cut the cord and transition from DirecTV to streaming options. One of the apps that I know they would see as essential is the NewsON app offered on Roku.

I picked around and it looks like that app is not offered on the Android TV platform. Is this still the case? I know they offer Android support, but it appears to be locked to tablet/mobile devices.

I would like to avoid recommending them getting FuboTV or YouTube TV if at all possible as that would largely eliminate the appeal of cutting the cord financially for them. They live in an area that is serviced by a Sinclair station, if that helps.

Any recommendations for NewsON alternatives I could put on their device? I’m fine with side loading if needed initially, but would prefer a Store app for ease of use updating since that might be an issue for them when im not around.

To be exact, I'm using a Sony xm4. And the "solution" of to go to option and deactivate sorround sound do nothing ... Sometimes if I start watching something with the tv speaker and then I switch on my headphones, I can hear thru them .... Is it a codec issue? Netflix , YouTube and amazon prime work fine

A staticy Netflix intro played over my Bluetooth wireless speakers. The only other person at home is asleep right now. The speakers are paired to my GoogleTV which is plugged into an older computer monitor.

I was hoping to figure out what triggered this action.

I recently bought a TCL TV running Google TV, and overall everything has been great. On the first day, I went in and adjusted all the picture settings to exactly what I wanted and it looks beautiful. However, at least once or twice a day, I’ll go to use the TV and it has automatically changed the picture mode to “Low Power”—which looks just god awful. I keep having to go in and manually change it back to the mode I prefer, but it will ultimately end up going back to that mode at some point. I’ve gone through the settings and I can’t find a way to stop it from doing this (the intelligent picture settings are already toggled to “off”). Is there something I’m missing? Is there a way to prevent this?

Is anyone else having trouble with these apps? I've tried uninstalling and it doesn't work. When I open the app, it sits at the opening screen for a few seconds, then just stops and goes back to my home page.

HI everyone. I usually like to think i know most of the tricks, but I just stumbled across this one. I am sure most of you knew, but just incase. If you click the Google TV remote when it is showing images, it will advance it to the next image , you can go backwards as well. So, it works almost like a presentation clicker on the images that it is showing.

Hi. I have an android box for iptv purposes only basically. I'm using tivimate premium and ambient light app from Google store. I can see the app working while I'm in the tivimate app but as I turn on the stream the ambilight turns off. Is that the ambient app settings fault or tivimate has secure content feature like youtube and Netflix? any way to make it work? Any alternatives for youtube to make the ambient light work? Next tube and vanced seem not to work. Or maybe all together a different ambient light app that might work ?

This is just annoying, every time I hit the FF (fast-forward button) or the right button to skip ahead 10 seconds, when using the YouTube app on my Android TV, the video pauses. I have to hit play to resume. That's so annoying when trying to quickly skip ahead through parts of video. On PC, if I hit the right arrow or L it skips ahead 5 or 10 seconds and keeps playing. Is there any way to prevent to YouTube App on Android TV from pausing after skipping forward in a video? It should just keep playing...

Hi. Im using AndroidTV through Xiaomi Mi Box S. Every time i turn the TV on, my sister gets a notification on her phone. Notification is from "Google play services", it says my tv's name in it and also has play, pause, skip buttons. How can we sort this out so it doesnt pop up all the time?

My new TV (Xiaomi P1), once activated the wake on wifi (on developers options) starts to turn on by itself randomly (mostly at night).

Also the TV turns on like it was just pluggen in to power, with Android boot up logo etc.

At first I've had this option disabled, and all was good, no random startsup etc. However lately I'm into home automation, and want to wake the TV with Android Home. So right now it's crucial to have the option activated. I'm not sure if it has to do with checking for updates or some other internal config.

I have checked on Internet for similar issues, and found out that first people just recommend disabling wake on wifi (don't want to). Also I've found that this happen on different brands like Xiaomi or Sony.

If someone have any information on how to setup the TV to work with Google Assistant and get rid of the random turn ons.

So I have an ChromeCast with Google TV and an Nvidia Shield Pro 2019. On the Chromecast, I have Content Recommendations from Prime, YouTube, Plex AND Netflix. But on the Shield, it seems, that the OS doesn't have access to Netflix.

Is there a way to fix that?

I have this Sony x80g android 9 TV for over a year but unable to play some interesting looking ATV games due to lack of gamepad .I researched online and proceeded to get a clone DS4 V2 with good ratings. DS4 seemed the most likely controller which will work with a Sony TV. I received the controller , tried connecting the controller to my android phone via Bluetooth and all the buttons and trackpad are working able to control the phone . when I tried to connect with Sony TV, I can always successfully pair via Bluetooth as generic game controller but that's it, the controller doesn't work at all. I tried pairing unpairing many times by pressing Share+PS buttons. I tried resetting the controller. I unplugged and restarted TV . even wired with a known good usb cable to TV is not able to control. wiring it just turns to charging the controller with orange light. Any advice.thanks.

Hi everyone , I've been finding frustrating trying to turn on a VPN using ethernet connection. Keeps disconnecting , don't know why. Had anyone bumped into the same problem? Is there a fix?

So I made the switch from Google TV to FLauncher after realizing I was literally not using the Google TV UI for anything except launching apps, which it is clearly not optimized for. I followed FLauncher's adb instructions to disable Google TV and Android TV launchers, and now FL is the default.

So far it's been pretty nice, but I've noticed an interesting side effect, my CCwGTV feels faster now? Going home and switching apps is definitely faster for me, most likely a combination of being taken directly to a grid of apps, and no longer loading a bunch of content recommendations and ads whenever going home. But what I didn't expect is that even just using apps like YouTube and others feels smoother and more responsive? Maybe Google TV has a lot of background overhead I hadn't considered? I don't have any way to measure this, but I was interested if anybody else made the switch and noticed improvements?

Does the Google Chromecast with GoogleTV runs Kodi better&smoother than the Mi box I use currently?
The Mi box works fine but I notice sometimes it's a bit slow and laggy with Kodi. Thinking about 'upgrading' to the newest GoogleTV device.

Retroarch detects my external drives and can play my games but MUPEN64 and PPSSPP can’t. I can’t even access my other drive; it just defaults to the internal one says “can’t access this folder”. I have a nVidia Shield TV Pro. Please help.

Is it worth it to try to play Mario kart double dash on it? I'm not sure how capable the APU is for the emulators.

I noticed this the other day so I wanted to test again with a different movie. I purchased Dune on Apple TV. It is 4K and has Dolby Vision when played through the Apple TV app. If I launch the movie from my "library" and press the button that says, "Google TV WATCH NOW", it retains the digital sound but loses Dolby Vision. There is no HDR at all actually. At first I thought, how convenient?!! It would be awesome to have a few less buttons to press. Unfortunately, I really enjoy Dolby Vision.

Is there a way to fix this?
