Resume playing after fast forward in YouTube on AndroidTV

This is just annoying, every time I hit the FF (fast-forward button) or the right button to skip ahead 10 seconds, when using the YouTube app on my Android TV, the video pauses. I have to hit play to resume. That's so annoying when trying to quickly skip ahead through parts of video. On PC, if I hit the right arrow or L it skips ahead 5 or 10 seconds and keeps playing. Is there any way to prevent to YouTube App on Android TV from pausing after skipping forward in a video? It should just keep playing...

That's just how it works on TV apps . Always has to my knowledge.

You can get this functionality in SmartTubeNext if you configure it correctly, along with many other features. I was sceptical to change away from the robust stock yt app, but if you spend a few minutes changing all the settings to your liking then it can be a great experience... most of the time...
