It's really annoying that every time I open Youtube everyone in the room gets to see the last 12 things I searched for on Youtube. For the life of me, I can't find a way to hide that list. Is there a way?

Hello can someone help me find a good android tv box with 1 Gbps Ethernet capabilities

Is there are way to remove the "Movies" and "Shows" page, and ads of the "For you" page of the Google TV (or, at the very least, stop it from defaulting to to this page and default to library/apps page instead). I have about zero interest in anything displayed there and would prefer not to see it (I only really use youtube and HDMI input on it), and do not want to have to scroll through it every time, or have it default to it when you turn on the TV.

I have the Google TV version of the TCL R646 TV.

My kid will pause Netflix and just walk away. Unfortunately the shortest idle option for the display to sleep is 4 HRS!

Is there some way (3rd party screen saver?) to make the display black after a few minutes?

edit: I will try this with a big black rectangle saved to my Google photos. "From the Google TV home screen, at the top right, go to the user profile icon and select Settings. Select System and then Ambient mode. Choose what you want to show: Google Photos: Choose photos or albums saved in your Google Photos account."

Just do this: Find a power adapter 2A output. The original one has 1A output and this is the reason behind the bootloops and laggy behavior. It's been just one day since I did this but never had a bootloop again. Yes it's still heating and what I did is to remove the back plastic case, Idk if it's helping or how much it's helping but everything seems fine now. Just use 2A output adapter and please give updates in the comments.

I don't know if I changed this with a setting or it was an unusual change with a recent update BUT when I hold down the volume up / down button it now goes just once per press and not all the way up or down. I.e. I have to press it 10 times to get th volume to zero from ten, not just hold it down.

Does anyone know if this was a setting I changed? If so how do I change it back?

Does SmartTube next have the same features as the YouTube TV app? Can I log in, make playlists, and watch them?

I know Android is Linux based, but is there any chance anyone is working on an open distro of a linux TV platform? Possibly with import tools that would allow existing apps to work, like wine.

Just hoping to see an OS with less ads, bloatware, etc.

Hey all, I recently bought a new Bravia TV, and for the first couple days the built in Chromecast was working fine, was able to stream Paramount+ and other services fine from phone to TV.

However, I downloaded the latest firmware update yesterday and now my TV is not even showing up as a device when I try to cast from the phone.

I've been waiting for this feature for awhile. I was finally able to connect my Nvidia Shield and Google home into a single speaker group.

I have a Sony A80J and I want to completely turn off the TV (similiar to a restart function) whenever I press the power button on the remote instead of just having the TV go to standby/sleep. Is there some kind of settings or app to that?

We have a 3-year old Lenovo IdeaPad that isn’t used for much other than streaming Hulu, Disney+ and Netflix. Can AndroidTV be installed as the OS? Can AndroidTV stream the “Big 3” streaming services?

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions. The intent of using AndroidTV over any other OS, is that I'm hoping to eliminate as close to everything that isn't just streaming from the services as possible.

So I have been trying to find a good cheap android tv box for a couple of days now and it's really confusing. Some have Netflix certification, some don't and other have other features (Dolby Vision, Atmos e.t.c). So I wanted to know if there is something cheaper than the mecool km2 that I can buy to use Netflix and run Plex/Kodi on 4k without any issues.

The Android UI to too cluttered with annoying ads. Is there an APP that will allow a custom User Interface that will work for shield or firetv?

Panasonic GX655 Android TV. When playing 4K video on Netflix or the built-in media player, the TV loses its shit; lagging, subtitles go out of sync, audio goes out of sync, seeking isn't possible, etc... while 1080p video works fine.

I know shield supports it fully, any alternatives?
