whenever i start my tv or see youtube or any other app a random loading screen appears and i waited it to go but it goes on until hours any help?

Ironically thanks to Amazon's latest update, I was made aware that it was possible to disable stock launcher on ATV using adb. Since then, I've done so, and installed Flauncher. I had tried other custom launchers before, but I really like the "just launch the apps and absolutely nothing else" approach much more.

So I was wondering whether Google was likely to follow Amazon's approach by forcing the ad-ridden stock launcher on any device that stays up to date. I really like my ShieldTVs so much more now than ever (even before the damn ads, the interface was quite unelegant IMHO).

Note: I have nothing against the ads themselves, as I do have Netflix, Disney+, Prime and YTPremium, I just am completely against being forced to watch them everytime I open my TV, and would probably root&degoogle all my devices before accepting that again.

My phone came with google TV and it is impossible to delete it. But it pops up once per every 5 minutes of screen time. Facebook? Google TV. Youtube? Google TV. Spotify? Google TV! I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to stop this! HAAAAALP!

Max playback res on prime video is 1080p on my Redmi X50. I uninstalled updates, then 4k worked, but next time I switched on tv it was back to 1080p. Tried uninstalling updates again but it didn't work.

All other apps allow 4k playback.

Howdy folks. I have an EKO 50" TV (fairly similar to a TCL if I am not mistaken) running Android TV 9. I am currently using it as a PC monitor but sadly there is a bug where if the TV loses signal, it will reset the display settings if the TV loses signal from my PC, which effectively turns off PC mode and makes it look rubbish.

To work around this, I have a smart power board, and have my PC set to go to sleep, rather than turn off the display. When my PC sleeps, the TV loses power, and upon bootup, my display looks OK.

Only issue - I have to switch input every time to HDMI1. Is there a workaround for this? I have tried all sorts of things, such as disabling networking, disabling chromecast, factory resetting, but nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions would be welcome!

TCL Android 4-series tv is flashing white text in the lower left corner. Tried doing a factory reset and it won't do it -when I get to the "Erase Everything" and click it, nothing happens. Any ideas?

Hi, just wanted to post it here in case someone encounters the same issue and ends up here through Google in the future.

I bought Sony Bravia A84J 65" and installed Kodi app on it with intention of watching movies from my NAS over network. The TV is connected directly to my Gigabit switch, Cisco 3560CX.

First thing that surprised me was that a £1900 TV comes with just Fast Ethernet (100Mb) network card. At first I thought it won't be a problem and while playing 1080p files (average 20GB per film) from NAS was indeed not a problem, playback of 4k UHD Blu-ray files (average 60-70GB) has proved challenging. The video would play for a minute or two fine and then would stop to buffer for few seconds.

Looking at my SNMP monitor I realised kodi generates traffic spikes when buffering videos. Most of the time it stays under 100Mb limit of the TV's network card, but from time to time it hits the ceiling and that's when the buffering was happening.

The solution has turned out to be simple. I connected USB 3.0 to Gigabit network adapter I had laying around and it just worked. No configuration required. Running a network speedtest I now reach 210Mb/s, probably limited by TV's CPU, but that's double of what built-in NIC (network interface card) achieves. More importantly, the random buffering problem is no more.

I have Android TV on my Hisense. For the past week or so, when I go to the search tab in YouTube, the screen is blank. It does say "search" on the top as if it recognizes the letterbox there, and if I push right it shows "Voice Search" and "Search" as if recognizing the voice search icon and search bar, but if I try and click enter nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there anyway to fix this without rebooting the app?

I recently purchased a 4-series TCL google tv and have been having problems with muffled/cloudy sounding audio. I have had to either unplug the tv or reset from the setting in order for the sound to come out clearly. I exchanged the first one I had thinking it was just a problem with the tv itself but the new one has the same exact issue as the first so i’m thinking it has to an issue with the software itself and some sort of bug. There aren’t any available updates so I can’t find a fix there, has anybody had similar issues and been able to find a fix for it? Or should I just return it and get a different kind of tv?

Side note: this happens for every single application and output

Hey guys and gals. I downloaded the BMC 18.9 Kodi add on, Simply Beautiful build. It works very well. However when I ran my virus scan, I encountered a harmful notification! Yikes! Running Ematic 4k Android 9. I also received the same warning on Fire stick 4k Max. Yes running VPN on and off both devices. Even tried it on the Wal-Mart branded 4k streamer. Same result. Comments please.

Really not impressed with the recommendations shown on my home screen. Is there anyway to improve these?

Also this is a family TV and I don't want adult content like walking dead or Deadpool 2 shown on my homescreen.

Any tips to clean it up a little?

I've just installed Zank Remote on both my Android phone and Android TV. I can get it to connect and I can move the mouse and can even type... However I cannot click or press the enter key (OK key on remote).

Just checking if anyone has any solutions or maybe even a recommendation for a better remote app to control my android TV with.

Hi- my 5yo Samsung is showing its age. Apps are all sluggish, sleek remote needs replacing soon. Picture is great so thinking of external box with sleek remote.

Musts: Fast-(like my phone) Sleek-remote (like Apple TV) Tuner-(I think) since I get a lot of channels not on my streaming services. Wants: Headphone jack on remote No additional monthly fee.

Currently on Hulu, Prime, YouTube, Disney+, Pluto, HBO Max.

Costs not as big a deal if I had benefits such as Pi Hole etc.

I have reliable 1gb internet (Xfinity), NordVPN currently on clients.

I’m tech savvy but lazy. Can do a detailed config but I don’t want to maintain the config often.

I've got some pretty major sleeping issues that keep me from doing normal human things, and something I've found that keeps me awake in the morning is turning on the TV when I wake up and just getting invested into some kind of show.

I was wondering if any of you guys know of a TV/ Feature/ literally any way I could make a TV turn on, launch Netflix/ Hulu etc. and play a show on its own at a specified time. I know this is a bit of a stretch but if this is out there / something similar you know of I would love to hear it.

For example, I've recently started watching the Righteous Gemstones on HBO Max. In Google TV (on a Chromecast), in the Continue Watching section, it shows that I'm currently on S4 E2. Not only is this wrong (I'm on S2 E4), but that show doesn't even have 4 seasons.

Is this a known issue? Is there something I can do to fix it, or is it a bug the devs will (hopefully) eventually fix?

I have only used Insignia fire edition fire TVs and I'm thinking of buying an Android TV or Android based TV I have read up on this and they are two different types of systems so maybe with some of you people out there that have these TVs and with your expertise and knowledge of how they work maybe you can direct me to some TVs to check out and possibly buy. But there are a couple things I would like to ask and one question is can apps be sideloaded to either one of these types of TVs like i side load apps to my fire edition TV ? Do either of these TVs have the Google Play store and if so is it similar to an Android phone when downloading them do they have free and paid apps? And for those of you that are familiar with app linked or unlinked or any other app stores out there can I download from them because when I go on these 2 applinked or unlinked I see a lot really cool apps that I've never tried because they say for Android TV and as you know fire TV is a light Android based TV so they don't play nice. So if any of you that read this would help out and give me your personal opinion on what you think are some of the best TVs that have one of the two platforms im speaking of in sizes 55" to 65" but remember I want to connect a fire stick to it so I can have fire apps along with Android/google would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance also everyone out there be safe.
