Simple radio player

I have a radio URL - http://listen.radioking.com/radio/288784/stream/334903 - and I want the simplest app that just starts playing this URL when I start the app. Any suggestions please?

Onn 4K getting terrible 2.4GHZ WiFi?

I haven't noticed this issue until today as I was using my Onn, on my 5GHZ.

For some reason, when I connect to either of my 2.4GHZ APs with the on, it's claiming speeds like 2mbit-8mbit out of my 100mbit Internet.

5GHZ as expected gives at least 85-93mbit.

What's weird is, when I speed test both 2.4's with my phone, they give at least 20-50mbit each.

TCL Android TV sound output (headphone jack) sucks. What can I do?

Hey there, so, I got a 43'' TCL Android TV, and while the sound quality of the speakers is decent, the sound it outputs through the headphone jack is really bad, lacking most of the bass.

How could I deal with this problem, through software or hardware? There are almost no sound settings on the TV and equalizer apps didn't help at all. Bluetooth is also far too laggy to be usable.

I'm really really desperate for something to try as I really like the TV, but this issue is really putting the breaks in my fun

Google TV Profiles with Separate Logins

I see Chromecast with Google TV finally have profiles. I've messed around with it and I am a bit disappointed, it only appears to affect the home screen/launcher.

I was hoping this would allow others to login to their own services on the same TV, but it appears apps and their logins are shared across profiles. Is this it or am I missing something to enable this?

For kids this makes sense but I was really hoping to finally not have a profile dedicated to guests or my algorithm all screwed up cause it's easier just to find your episode then to login to your account and continue your show. It would be great if they just switch profiles to get on their Netflix.

ONN android remote reset and use it with Nvidia Shield

I brought Onn streaming device to use its remote with Nvidia Shield. Shield recognized the remote very first time, but after that it doesn't connect to it. I could not find any way to reset the Onn android tv remote. It is the white bluetooth remote which somewhere I read is based on Google G10 android remote. Please let me know if someone knows how to reset this remote, and if anyone has been able to use it with Nvidia Shield?

TIA

Question: USB drive to expand the storage for app

Hi, I am planning to buy 1TB USB drive to expand the storage for Sony Bravia X85J. I am going to use to install apps like gaming. When I look up the price on amazon, there is a wide price range from Sandisk's $150 to $25. Is the cheap one around $25 okay or do I need super expensive one?

No Optical Audio Out Sound

If anyone can assist, I'd appreciate it.

I have a Skyworth 40inch running android 11. I've just recently got cool Edifier active shelf speakers. The speakers have an optical input, and the tv has an optical/digital out. When connecting the optical cable, I get sound from tv speakers and no sound from Edifier speaker, even though I've set mode optical on my speakers. I can't seem to find an option on my tv to switch audio output to optical.

If anyone knows a work around, I'd appreciate it, thanks!

Wich of these three android boxes is better?

Greetings folks, didn't know what subreddit would be best for this question so here feels like it fits. I'll be getting gigabit optic internet in a week.

Wanna get myself an android box so I can stream 4k content on my TV primarily trough streamio and YouTube apps. I would also try steam link app to see how the couch steam experiance is.

Alas, I have no freaking knowledge of what Android box would be better, but I especially since a lot of the recommended ones aren't available in Croatia without paying absurd shipping costs or going to non trusted sites.

Available boxes that are supposedly decent and available are:

Xiaomi MI TV Box S: CPU : ARM Cortex A53 GPU: Mali 450 750 MHz Ram: 2gb ddr3 OS: Android 8.1 Price: 75€

Xiaomi TV stick 4k: CPU: ARM Cortex-A35 GPU: Mali-G31 MP2 Ram: 2gb OS: Android TV 11 Price: 80€

Box PARADOKS X96 Max+ CPU: AmLogic S905X3, Quad Core Cortex A55 Processor (64-bit) GPU: Mali-G31 MP2 Ram: 4gb OS: Android 9 Price: 105€

While and Nvidia TV shield pro would be the best, but it's price is equal to 3-4 of these 3.

Kind thanks to any and all help. I :)

I really wanted to love Android TV

I was first introducted to Android TV when I purchased an Nvidia Shield and really like Android TV. This was a few years ago. Since then I upgrade my TVs and decided to get TVs with built in Android TV. One of the big reasons I like Android TV was the TV app as it would combine OTA channels with channels from other apps (like Pluto TV). Having a TV guide for all those channels in one place is really nice. Granted it is not perfect as it would often lose the channel guide for Pluto TV, requiring me to open the Pluto TV app to refresh it. However, that in not what has turned me off of Android TV. No, that would be the combination of the software (Android TV) and the hardware. Being based on Android, it suffers the same issues that Android phones do. Google has set the hardware requirement so low for running it, that if you purchase a low end phone, the OS will struggle to run, be slow and even buggy at times. At least with phones, you can tell by the price point or even looking at the specs. This is problematic with TVs. I have a Phillips and RCA tv. Both, at times, struggle to run Android TV. When it first starts up, you need to wait at least a minute after the home screen appears while the OS finishes booting or you will find the response time slow and any app you start will likely to crash. Both TVs also, when I turn on the TV, like to tell me that they cannot connect to my wifi. This requires a reboot of the TV to fix. Too often, both TV struggle to respond to my commands and I am constantly rebooting them.

Before the haters start hating, let me say that my recommendation to others is not "don't by Android TV." Rather my advice is to avoid getting a TV with Android TV built in and to avoid cheep android boxes. Like Android phones, you get what you pay for. If you want to use Android TV, spend the money and get a quality Android TV streaming box (like Nvidia Shield). If you do not want to spend the money for a quality Android TV box, then get a Roku as they are cheep and do a good job of being a TV Streaming box (but without some cool features).

Google TV suddenly can’t control volume of the tv

Hi, I have a Samsung TV, a soundbar and Google tv. When first connecting everything 6-7 months ago I could just use the Google tv remote for controlling the tv such as turning on and of and adjusting volume. Now however I can’t control the volume anymore.
I’ve checked that it’s enables in the sound settings on the Google tv settings and that it’s enabled in the tv settings which it is.
It worked a few hours ago and then when I was going to start the tv again the remote didn’t have any connection so I took out the power adapter from the Google tv and then everything except volume control worked.
Anyone know what to do? Thank you!
