No Optical Audio Out Sound

by Bk_Online

If anyone can assist, I'd appreciate it.

I have a Skyworth 40inch running android 11. I've just recently got cool Edifier active shelf speakers. The speakers have an optical input, and the tv has an optical/digital out. When connecting the optical cable, I get sound from tv speakers and no sound from Edifier speaker, even though I've set mode optical on my speakers. I can't seem to find an option on my tv to switch audio output to optical.

If anyone knows a work around, I'd appreciate it, thanks!

Can you share some pictures of the TV audio settings?

Check the TV remote control. There usually is a settings button with a cog icon. That one shows you audio and video settings that you won't find through Android options. In there you should be able to set digital audio to auto or passthrough.

What's the model number? I would google that + manual and then CTRL+F for "optical" or "spdif".

Finally found a solution after going a lot of other posts.

I just had to change my spdif state to 1 (default is on 2) using adb shell commands. Also had to set my digital audio to PCM from TVs audio settings.

Thanks everyone!
