What is considered to be a good ad blocker on android tv box ?

I watch movies on Cinema HD v2 & it constantly brings ads !

I heard of ad guard and blockoda , are they good ?

I'm facing a problem with my Mi Box 3 on Oreo. When I'm trying to read a file (1080p, 2160p etc.) DS Video / VLC / Mxplayer doesn't switch the movie screen resolution. I want to specify that it works when using Kodi. I've tried everything (all DS Video / VLC / Mx Player options but I can't figure out what's the problem.)

The resolution stays the same selected by the Mi Box settings (Settings > Display > Screen Resolution) ==> I've chosen "Disabled" and "Enabled" for Auto switch, same result. So for example, if I put 2160p into the settings, the Mi Box will display in 2160p every movies into DS Video / VLC / Mx Player, even for ex. the 720p movies, which isn't a good thing. If i put 720p into the settings, my 1080p and 2160p will be displayed in 720p...

I just spoke with support for an hour trying to understand their timeframe for fixing all the bugs (Google Assistant lag, etc) and was unsuccessful. If there is a release schedule for updates they wouldn't communicate it with me. So just a heads up, don't hold your breath.

I bought a JBL Link Bar and paired it with my LG C9. When I play an Ultra HD show on Netflix via the native Netflix app on the TV (i.e. not through the Link Bar) it says “Dolby Vision” at the top right. When I play the same show via the Link Bar, it says “HDR” in the top right.

That makes me think the Link Bar doesn’t support Dolby Vision but does support HDR. But when I look up the specs for the Link Bar, it doesn’t mention any support for HDR either.

So any idea why the TV is showing HDR when I play a show? Does the Link Bar in fact support it?

I bought a new Android TV and I noticed a lot of outbound traffic to non-YouTube and Netflix addresses from it in my router logs. it made me wonder - when I install a third-party app on my TV, can those apps tell if I watch YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and the content in it or can they only see what I do inside their own app?

Has anyone had any experience using streaming sites for live sports using puffin browser (or any other alternatives?)

EDIT: To be perfectly clear, I am not asking for suggestions or solutions. I am almost 100% sure, that this issue is specifically for MiBox S and it has something to do with the device's network capabilities. It is basically a software bug, that I hope someone from Xiaomi might fix soon.

So here's the situation. I have Mi Box S connected to 5 GHz WiFi, with no obstacles in between the router and device (like 2 meters away from each other with nothing obstructing in the way). Then I have a PC, connected via cable and there I have some with VERY high quality video content. But not high enough so that network speed would bottleneck in theory, but it actually does. I cant stream them over on my TV. It plays like couple of seconds and then freezes, starts buffering and plays for a while again, and so on.

I'm talking about 4K HDR videos, with pretty high bitrates, like 20-60Mb/s video bitrates. I know that's high, but still, not even nearly close to my router speed limits. And I'm 100% sure that it is the MiBox's network problem, because those same files can easily be played using a USB drive (so the device has enough horsepower, so to speak, to actually render those videos without any issues).

Also, my friend has cheap-ass shit-brand android tv box. It's not even AndroidTV, it's just like Phone UI in landscape mode, scaled up to a TV screen size. But it has no issues of streaming in the same scenario. AND ALSO, I have no problems streaming same huge-ass files with phones on the same network. So it is definitely MiBox S's fault. I just want to talk about this issue, so that someone at Xiaomi might actually fix this in next software update.

Hey I bought the mi box from xioami im connected to internet via Wifi but when I do speedtest its only catch 5 mbps from(50mbps)

What can I do can I connect a lan cable to the mi box ive heard that there's some device Lan Switch to usb is it helpful

I have a couple of mibox 4's. I am disappointed that I can't install the apps that I want onto it.

I bought a couple of other boxes and still the same.

I have 2 Samsung TVs. But they are both rubbish for the built in android.

Is there an android TV box that has the full play store on it. I don't care about spending money.

I really want a webcam and Samsung does not have them anymore..

I can't confirm but the picture quiltly appears to be 30 FPS on the Nvidia Shield on NFL Sunday Ticket apk. It is kinda of choppy.

I switch over the my Roku3 and streams picture and FPS are much better. Both are hardwired into my router with 150/150.

I have Smart Box with Android TV 9.0.

I enabled Developer options and option at the bottom but even after restart every app still says "This app doesn't support split screen".

Is there a way I can force it? Because Developer options did nothing.

And yes, there is also Picture in Picture feature that's not working as well. It should work on Chrome and YouTube (I sideloaded both apps).

Hi, I used to be able to get it to work on my Mi Box using vpn and even fake gps location. but after reinstalling it, it keeps saying "not available in your country". Updated to android tv 8 recently.

It seems to still be able to detect location after using vpn/mock location. Anyone have any ideas how to get it to work on live channel?

I just want to find which app is best for playing Plex. The Plex app is basically garbage, and Plex for Kodi is kinda alright. I have also tried MrMC, which works but is kinda slow. Do you know of any other AndroidTV apps I can try out with a really nice interface and...works?

Got an AirTV Mini with a new Sling subscriber promo, whenever I search for the app, it gets pulled up but doesn't give me an "Install" button.

Hi guys, I was wondering if is there any android tv app to set a timer countdown.

I would like to do that for my gaming sessions. I know I can put a timer on the phone but I’m looking for on-screen info, and reminders of 10 mins left, 1min left, and perhaps shut down.

I tried to look for it online but could not find anything.
