I just bought an ematic agt419 and really like it. But the on screen keyboard is finicky and frequently double presses. Is it possible to replace it with a different keyboard? Is there one that people are having good luck with?

Looking for things to put on the shield for my kid and I to play. She's almost 4 and I'd like to introduce her to using the controller. Some preschool learning type stuff would be nice as well as more hand-eye coordination and logic games. Open to all suggestions including emulators.

Hi guys, I'm newbie in terms of smart tv. We bought a tv last year that connects to the internet but we only use it to watch youtube other than movies and cable service.

I planned to buy mi box to try android tv as our tv is kind of boring but the courrier did not deliver it and returned to the seller. Now, I got an old pc that I refurbished but since we already have our main pc, I'm thinking to repurpose the old pc to HTPC. I already installed kodi/libreelec on it but I'm having hard time to use it. I think I have to subscrice to the services add ons before it work which I do not plan to do so. I'm looking to switch it to android tv instead but I'm wondering if I could stream movies and tv channels into it for free, or have any other suggestions?

Have both a Shield TV and Vodafone TV (Australia).

hey folks, im just wondering if anyone has found any solution to this issue, i've literally never been able to sideload an app to this device, i have unknown sources allowed, but every single time it tells me it fails to parse the package, even apps i already previously had made for android tv, is there any way to fix this? or how about root this dang device so i can get deeper access and maybe sideload from some kind of bootloader, i have no idea

I'm an American living in Germany. We use ExpressVPN on our Shield for almost all our content. It works without a hitch except for the Amazon Music. The app consistently disappears and the only way to fix that is to search for it again and enable it again.

How do I prevent the app from becoming disabled?

I have been wanting to buy a Smart tv box for a long so i am going to buy this one. I had a few questions about the nvidia shield tv (not the pro, like the tube). Is there a solid way to get third party apps and play/watch them.

Please let me know because it seems like android is patching up the easy ways to get third party apps.

New Android TV user here. I was playing around with Kodi trying to get NewsOn since the app is not available in the Android Tv play store, but then it came up with a message that said "the following additional add ons will be installed".... I allowed it, without realizing that maybe I shouldn't have. Anyway the NewsOn Kodi didn't work right, so I uninstalled kodi. My question: Do I have to manually delete these additional add ons or is uninstalling Kodi good enough? I don't want these files floating around on my device.

Does anyone have a directv apk that can work on my nvidia shield? I don't want to use the tablet version but was wondering if you could direct me in the right path. Thanks

I really hope you can help me out here. I haven't found anything online that helped me solve my problem and am now asking for help directly.

The Bravia that I have been using now for like four weeks has been working perfectly. The best feature was when I discovered that I could simply click the small TV Icon on my iPad/phone when watching a stream or youtube and I could cast it directly to the TV. It was super convenient.

However, for the last week, casting to the TV hasn't been working anymore. In the youtube app the button still shows, but clicking on it, my Bravia isn't shown. In streaming apps it doesn't even show up anymore.

The TV does recognize that the iPad is in the same network (I was able to log in to my disney+ account on the iPad and the TV recognized that.)

I have done the following things before I noticed it stopped working at some point.

- Updated my iOS (I don't think that's the issue since my phone can't cast to the TV either.)

- Installed a sound bar using HDMI Arc.

- Fiddled around with some app settings in the TV since I wanted to restrict access to stuff so my TV can't spy on me as much.

I'm assuming it to be point three, but I cannot find a setting anywhere that would restrict screen casting. Google screen cast built in is activated as well.

Can anyone PLEASE help me what I am missing here/what I screwed up? I loved casting to the TV and it made the whole experience so much better. I'd hate not to have this function anymore.

I have a Nvidia shield but also had this issue with my smart tv’s own OS. When I click on a video in the leanback UI it sometimes opens the YouTube home screen or the last video I opened. If I back out and press on it again then it works. Is there a way to fix this?

Do anyone here have any info on this tv? Some people say its basically 8804 without the soundbar. And some sitts say the 7304 is a 8804 without the soundbar.

Also, it seems i cant charge picture settings while in app, is this a bug or standard for Android Tv?

And it had this cinavision garbage menu on it, I can't full screen it due to having no remote.

Tried plugging a mouse to go into the settings but no full screen option.

Tried loading an autostart .APK onto it so it will automatically the TV mode but there is no TV app for it to autostart.

The website for Soniq is garbage and the TV launcher app is unavailable in the app store.

I dont have a dongle to connect it to the internet so have been loading apk's via USB.

Got it to help with the social isolation going on but might have to return it to the lawn shop i got it from.

I've been looking to get into making a portable retro gaming device for a while now, I was looking to get a raspberry Pi but before I ordered it I came across an Android TV box that has never been used in my basement that my dad ordered last year. I was wondering if anyone has tried making a portable gaming console out of an Android TV, or if it's even possible.
