ALL AMLogic chipset based Google Certified Android TV OS devices, come with a requirement from Google to have their Bootloaders locked before device Certification and sale using SELinux.
I believe TV’s running Android TV OS are in the same boat.
That means you cannot root using SuperSU or Magisk at all by normal means.
The Nvidia Shield does have some images available that can be rooted.
All AndroidTV TVs should be almost identical in their ability to root
