On my Mi Box (MDZ-16-AB) I noticed that the launcher (Android TV Home) version 2.1.3-320113730 and higher has the annoying banner ads, but version 2.0.10-307630529 and lower do not. I would like to be able to load v2.0.10-307630529 and disable auto updates for only that app, but from what I can see the Play Store for AndroidTV doesn't have that ability like stock Android does. I only see a global auto-update enable/disable.
I've tried:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Package com.google.android.tvlauncher signatures do not match previously installed version; ignoring!]I know it is possible to disable auto-updates and manually update every other app, that's not what I want. I want to be able to give the system to another family member who is less tech-friendly and have the unit update normally without mucking up the homescreen.
I'm also open to any alternative launchers, I haven't explored that as much as I should have but it didn't look too promising.
Hey guys,
After much hair pulling, I have finally managed to get USB Storage working on the $30 Dynalink Android TV Box.
##Video showing process with 4K HDR Demo
For the people that don't know, the specs are:
SoC | Amlogic S905Y2
CPU | Quad-core 1.8 GHz (ARM Cortex-A53)
GPU | ARM Mali-G31 MP2
RAM | 2GB
Storage | 8GB
Its basically this box rebadged by dynalink. Pretty impressive specs for $30
Not sure if there is an issue with the device trying to format larger USB drives but 16GB worked fine for me. If any of you have this device and can't get the USB storage working then please try it with a 16Gb (or smaller) drive and see if that works.
After installing the latest update to the Xiaomi Mi box 4k, my Mi box is unable to stay awake. I already had Wakelock running before the update and it worked perfectly. After the update it seemed like Wakelock was removed and I had to reinstall it.
But now my Mi Box is unable to get out of hibernation by remote and to get it working I have to replug the power cord to force a reboot.
Does anyone have the solution?
