I just bought a salora 55UA220. It has an intergrated android tv and Chromecast. It works pretty good but the android UI is 1080p and i like to change it to 4k is that possible?

I had a local library and recently migrated to MySQL because I’m planning on getting another shield. The artwork on the shield launcher home screen now shows blank for all shows but one. Anybody know how to fix this issue?

I have the Mi Box MDZ-22-AB. I accidentally installed the october security updates without thinking about the fact that it would likely upgrade the launcher as well. Is it possible to roll back the upgrade to an earlier version of android 9 images?

I can see the home and use apps like Netflix just fine, but when I try to watch live TV I get sound but no picture. I can see the overlays and TV setting while on the live screen. I just can't actually see the shows or guides. It's not a problem with the box. We tried it with another TV, and it worked fine. We've tried unplugging and rebooting with no luck. What do I do now?

is there a way to make this work? it works on my tivo stream 4k (android 9) but not my CCGTV (android 10). the PIP settings page is hidden in the menu, but you can get to it via adb...seems it's enabled for all of the apps i want it to be enabled for, but it just doesn't work.

is there a way to somehow make this work via adb commands, or is it broken in the latest CCGTV software?

VLC isn't doing a good job at seperating viewed content like it does on a mobile device so it gets confusing which episode I was on.

We just replaced an older TCL w/ Roku with a new Sony X950H w/ Android TV. Longtime Android phone user, excited to have it on the TV, blah blah blah. The old TCL had a really slick feature when you put in a usb drive, it would automatically enable live OTA pause/record functionality for up to 90 minutes. We found it incredibly useful as a free DVR-lite solution, skipping commercials, watching shows if we were cooking, etc. I ignorantly assumed this was just a nice feature that modern smart TVs had.

Fast forward to now, when my wife is asking why our giant shiny expensive new TV can't pause. Is there any way to replicate this functionality without a new subscription, dongle, tuner, or something else? It seems ridiculous that a 2016 $300 TV has a core useful SW feature that a 2020 $1500 TV does not, so I'm hoping we can fix this through an app or some other workaround.

I recently just purchased the new Chromecast with Google TV. When watching movies like on Netflix or HBO Max every 15 minutes or so the screen will go black for a couple seconds. And also I noticed on my pixel 5 when watching a movie from the Google TV app I have the same issue. I'm starting to think it's the Google TV app that's causing this.

Whats the best movie player out there for Android tv?? I use MX player and VLC...but they sometimes lag..! I have a good internet speed ..up to 500mb down and 200 up... Im trying Xplayer it works well but no subtitles..!! Can someone help me..!! Thanks in advance

I have an android tv and whenever I try to open Netflix I keep on getting an error: This device is not optimised for Netflix (-14) with an error code: ui-800-3.

I tried re-connecting to another Wifi and deleted caches and data for Netflix but it did not work.

whenever i play a video from YouTube that's 4k, 1440p, 1080p as long as it's 60fps it always seems to lag. The audio is fine but the video itself is stuck on a single frame. it's working fine when it's 4k 30fps. how can i fix this

edit: i just tested a 1080p 60fps video on it with my ps4 and it's working normally. i think the problem is the TV's youtube app itself. i guess we'll need a ps5 or something to enjoy 4k

I just bought the Google ethernet power adapter and the wired networking option didn't show up. So I pinged Google support and they told me that I'd need to do a factory reset to switch to wifi.

Has anyone gotten the PS4 controller to work on an Android TV?
I have a Sony XBR 900f on the latest firmware. When I connect my ps4 controller to the tv, it pairs but i can't use it for anything.

The goal is to use Geforce Now with the PS4 controller. Any ideas what i'm missing? Is there an app i need to install to use it?

Is there any way to browse its contents now? It won't show on any file manager.

Why does the system internal storage show on file managers, but not the SD card?

I'm looking for an app that can show an alert or alarm over whatever I'm watching. I need a reminder to turn things off and go to bed. I found NextAlarm which has a "Bedtime Alarm", but that wakes up the system to trigger the alarm, which is not something I want. Any suggestions?

I recently started getting into 4k movies and realized my tv can't really watch 4k. Since bandwith is just too low with 100Ethernet ports, I tried making USB 2.0 work. Unfortunately almost all adapters nowadays use USB 3.0, so I couldnt make that work. It was really buggy when I tried. My last solution was to use a Xiao mi Box S which is a fantastic device and instantly worked. Unfortunately, i now have 3 Remotes and i dont want to switch around all remotes. CEC sounded promising but it doesn't quite work... it works when my tv is turned off, then both on buttons turn on the tv/mi box. But when turning it off, only my TV remote turns off the mi box. Unfortunately my Mi Box remote doesn't turn off the tv. My modell is the 55ep680. It says it fully supports cec on the product page. Any idea as to what i can try? Maybe some kinda android tv debugging? Perhaps i can analys some logs.

Mainly going to use the cast feature . My TV is 1080p so 4K capabilities don't matter. Mostly going to watch YouTube and Amazon prime video .

I have been using an AppleTV for some time and am thinking of switching to an Nvidia Shield given I have recently moved from iPhone and iMac to Android/Windows it makes sense as it is somewhat difficult to cast to at this point.

Previously, with the AppleTV if I wanted a Swedish subtitle to be displayed in English I was pretty well screwed.... UNLESS I went to the iMac, opened Chrome and logged into the channel (C More, SVT, Disney, whatever) and set translate to English. This effectively live-translated all the subtitles while they hit the screen.

There was no noticeable delay so it was pretty nice! While there are Apps that will do this on some channels, they do not cover all - I just wanted to know if Google Translate works inside of AndroidTV in a similar fashion or can somehow be configured to do so.
