I just bought a Google TV to hook up to a projector and I'm trying to Bluetooth to Nest audio. It was working fine for an hour but then keeps disconnecting. Anyone come across this issue and have any solutions?

I already tried the old fixes I found on the internet and the adds just seem to bypass them. I have had this TV for 2 years now and previously was able to shut off the adds but with the last update I am having no luck. I uninstalled all updates to the android home app as well as to android core services. Then I go to manage home screen and toggle "Spotlight" to off but it still is there at the top of my home screen. All this work may seem petty to some but I feel like if I payed hundreds of dollars for this TV I shouldn't be subjected to adds on the home screen every time I turn on the TV. Also after I payed for the TV fxck them for double dipping and forcing their adds on me for their profits. If they wanted to offer me free streaming that's one thing but the fact there is no option to opt out is frustrating. I don't even know how this can be legal? Help!

So I have a subwoofer and sound bar thing. And for whatever reason when playing anything from my chromecast with google tv my subwoofer keeps cutting out randomly. I've tested it using other hdmi devices and it always works perfectly. Just when using the new chromecast does this happen. Anyone have any ideas? Im lost. I've tried factory resetting as well and nothing. Wondering if anyone has ran into similar issues with their android tv.

On my Chromecast with Google TV, some things that I say into the Google Assistant always elicit a verbal response. For example, if I say, “open prime video,” it verbally responds, “Got it. Launching Prime Video on the family room tv.” I don’t want it to say anything out loud.

My parents bought a JBL link bar. Unfortunately, they encountered problems on the first day of using it. I set up the link bar, everything seemed fine. However, a bit later the soundbar stopped responding to the remote.

I did some troubleshooting, and I think the bluetooth stopped working on the link bar. When I press the button, it doesn't light up. It does turn on, and I get an image on the tv. When I press the bluetooth button, it does go to the pairing screen.

However, the remote won't pair. I also can't connect to it using a phone.

I think it needs a factory reset. Does anybody know how I can reset it without the remote?

I'm relatively new to the world of Android TV boxes and have heard that the top dog right now is the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro but I was looking to see if there are recommendations worth considering under $100USD. My needs are:

• Under $100USD.
• Has at least 1 USB slot for large HDD with 4K movies.
• Can handle 4K video.

How do I remove Tubi and Crackle from Google TV? I don't use these services and don't want those recommendations.

I install new launcher on my tv and uninstall the previous launcher with 'adb' commands but when I reset to factory the tv, the Changes disappear.
So Is there any way to fix this problem?

Recently I tried setting up a VPN (NordVPN) on our Xiaomi Mi Smart TV 4S with Android TV, mainly to watch the BBC iPlayer content for my girlfriend. I ran into the problem that apparently there is quite a lot of DNS leakage with the TV (it works fine on the Windows PC and her IPad). I tried manually setting the DNS servers to the ones from NordVPN, but even that didn't resolve the issue. I also gave the ExpressVPN trial a go, but the result was the same. Has anyone suggestions what to try? It's not just the iPlayer, Netflix also only shows local content even when we are connected to a US or UK server. Thanks for your help and happy new year :)

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me setup the tv control buttons on my Google TV remote. I had this working for a while, until I convinced them to switch from Cable to YouTube TV as I was already paying for it. The issue is without the old cable box I am now unable to get the tv to turn on or adjust volume with the remote....

My parents tv is a older LCD from RCA (LED50B45RQ) and the previous tv provider was Dish with their Hopper box. I believe the Hopper box was relaying the IR codes from the Google TV remote to then turn on the TV. Without it plugged in now I am unable to get the Google TV to preform the actions.

I have deleted the RCA tv profile and tried reconnecting it within the Google TV's settings for Remotes. However, the Volume, Power, and Input buttons will not program now. I was just curious if anyone knows any other ways to try to get this to work? Is their a manual code input way to add a tv? Or a way to make google try different codes until it works? Or am I unfortunately dead outta luck here?

If anyone has any advice it will be appreciated. I know it's a first world problem and my parents can still use their other remote to control the tv without issue. Just was hoping to make it easier for them. They love the system so much that they will keep it either way. But I know they get annoyed having to find the other remote to turn something up and down. Especially if it gets lost.

(UPDATE: SOLVED: So taking the batteries out of the remote and restarting everything fixed the issues with the codes not being accepted with the tv. Thank you)

Interested in buying this since it is official android tv and Google certified. Can live without netflix certification but am wondering if this has vulkan for games which I only intend for testing some games with. Also, is there frame rate switching or hdmi passthrough? Also, is the remote better than MiBox? Had the MiBox and currently have a shield but have a generic chinese box in my bedroom which has been flakey as of late.

I need some assistance.

For a while, I watch movies with some apps for direct video streaming ( like Stremio). But now I have a problem with all streaming apps like Youtube, Kodi, etc.

I am already checked:

1. Internet connection is good,
2. Noticed that Spotify working,
3. All other connected devices on a home network ( laptop, cellphones) working, Youtube on laptop working fine,

So I concluded, that problem is apparently with Sony TV.

If someone already faced a similar problem, please give me an advice.

I have a new Hisense H6510G Android TV, and if I play any streaming content (Disney plus, Netflix, etc), it just doesn't look as good as if I'm playing the same content on a external device such as an Xbox or even an external Chromecast I hooked up to it. It's like motion on the built in apps looks really juddery and not smooth at all.

But those issues are gone when viewing on anything other than the built in android tv apps. What's causing this? I'm pretty sure I've messed with all the settings, but maybe I'm overlooking something. I'm about to just buy a new Chromecast with google TV for it and never use the internal built in apps.

I hope this helps someone, i have a new Sony TV 75inch x800h, i changed the power option to go turnoff after inactivity. when its triggered it killed the whole network , i couldn't ping anything even the devices has static IP and on the same switch. unintentionally they made some kind ultimate network killing weapon. it took me some time to figure this out, i have over 60 devices and 8 physical switches. so even when i switched back the setting it didn't fix it , until i rebooted the TV.

I have a hisense h8g, my base ps4 does 12bits of color (obvious banding) at 1080p hdr, my ps4 pro does 8bits color at 4k, is it a hdmi cable issue? I only have high speed (10gbs) ones. Also, since we got a stimulus, should I sell it and buy a Sony x900h? I originally got it for hdr gaming (brightest tv in my area)

I set up my Chromecast with GoogleTV with following stuff:

• The USB + LAN Hub everybody seems to recommend ("VEMONT USB C Hub,5-in-1 Type C Multiport Adapter with 3 Ports USB 3.0,RJ45 Gigabit-Ethernet 1000Mbps,100W Power Delivery" on Amazon)
• Old Logitech Webcam
• Ethernet/LAN cable to the Router
• 128 GB USB Thumb drive (128 GB Verbatim 49808 V3 max USB 3.0, formatted by CCwGTV as internal Storage)
• Occasionally 2 bluetooth game pads (RetroBit SN30+ and Microsoft XBox One Controller)
• 2 bluetooth remotes (one that came with the device and a Logitech Hub)
• Logitech K400 Plus Keyboard through its 2,4 Ghz USB unifying receiver

I also bought a 60W Power Delivery USB AC adapter, but it's not necessary, so I don't use it!

ll of the above works with the original plug without problems as far as I can see.

So I hope this experience helps some.

Edit: I cannot recommend using the Logitech K400 Keyboard yet. While it works well including the touchpad, I couldn't find a way to set the keyboard layout for USB keyboards. Certainly it's somehow possible like in older Android versions, but I think with Bluetooth it should be more straight forward.

Also I edited the name of the thumb drive according to the name on the box.

So I've got a gift for my parents, Mi TV Stick which works flawlessly, except that time to time I would like to connect and show/update some apps/channels for them.
I've tried many all available desktop options with no success, TeamViewer QuickSupport(side-loaded Universal addon) or AnyDesk, unfortunately, none of them correctly transmits the commands and I am unable to access any app from the main screen, except that both allow me to go through system settings if I see an app/system options ribbon available.

I have activated overlay and enabled them in accessibility settings, no luck.

Is there a workaround or maybe someone could suggest a budget alternative that will work with remote desktop?

As the title reads, what is the BEST browser for an Android TV?. I am looking for a browser that supports HTML5 playback. I tried Puffin TV but we all know its awful. Tried TV Bro, but whenever I try to play some video or the other, this comes up " MEDIA_ERR_DECODE ".
