I’m interested in getting an ADT-1 even though it is a little old. I wanna use one for n64 emulation or even just DS emulation. How hard is it to get these emulators and roms on an android TV OS? Can I simply get them off the play store and load roms with a USB? Or does it require more skill? Please help me out!

Ever since I've had my Chromecast with google TV the internet fluctuates constantly in and out. I mainly experience this with the Spotify app more than anything else.

I spoke to customer support who had no solution for me, just wandering if anyone has or had the same problem as me :)

I'm getting a new TV and am considering getting AndroidTV to work as a hub for music and tv and have a couple of questions. I also have a turntable and vinyl so want to use the TV to play digital music into the same amp and speaker setup. But I'm also considering whether it would just be easier to use a tablet and cast to the TV or bluetooth into the amp directly.

1. One limitation seems to be the availablility of apps in the different app structure of TV. If I want to listen to NTS radio, for example, and there is no Android TV app how feasible is it to listen to it through their website, including finding specific programs etc? TV browsers tend to be pretty clunky and horrible to use in my previous experience.
2. For music, what is the best audio out to have/use to feed into an amp and speakers both in terms of sound quality and ease of use?

Last update let my device freeze overnight every single night (including last night)

Then for some reason it temporarily bricked my remote for a week when I wiped it clean.

Like this: mibox working good. I use the remote to go to settings, revert to factory values. After reboot the remote is totally dead. It can pair with my phone, but it couldn't pair with any mibox anymore. I have two mibox, the remote couldn't pair with none of them. Then, one week later, it worked good, all I did is leaving it on the shelf. I guess the update updated the firmware of the remote and temporarily bricked it?

So, anyway, the update is safe? I'm not really wanting to waste another week of troubleshooting...

I feel like we (and Google) shouldn't take their behavior sitting down. It's so frustrating to see almost all of my shows I'm currently watching lined up neatly in one strip.

Especially given the fact that Google TV launched with the full monty of integration. Only to be stripped away. It just seems wrong. I know there's nothing we can do, but...what can we do??

Just got my first android tv (nvidia shield). I have a large collection of movies that I have copied to an external sdd attached directly to the box. What is the best media library manager available. Totally willing to purchase something if it’s worth while. I should mention I’m very particular about things so adding cover art and meta data would be a bonus.

I just got my mother a Google Tab for Christmas to replace our fire stick and even after a factory reset after about 2-10mins it automatically turns off the WiFi connection. I don’t mean it disconnected from the WiFi, it completely turns off connections until you go back into settings and re-enable it for it to turn back off again after another few minutes. What could be the cause of this? I’ve tried updating firmware and moving the device throughout the house with no avail

I've added a 128GB USB drive formatted it and moved apps to it during that process, but when I install new apps they install to the internal storage and not the new external storage, is there a way to change this?

Also the apps on the external storage are also still show up on the internal storage also, maybe that's fine but just seemed odd.

Some of my providers apps aren't very bug free. I was wondering, how do you see on your Google TV when there are updates? Or when the app was updated last? Is there a way to force update or does how/when do updates take place?

I held the voice search and said "Black Mirror" and it took me to season 5 episode one via the Netflix app. I did the same for "Chance" and it took me to the last episode through Hulu. Is there any setting I have to change where it takes me directly to the last watched episode or season?

Anyone know how to actually configure Google TV Launcher side loaded on a shield?

It works just fine but I can't change the sources or services I use. It just immediately crashes. Same if I try to go into my account settings via my profile icon on the top right.

Anyone have the correct combination of launcher and some other apk that will make things work better?

I just bought a Sony ah8. Any thoughts on what should be some of the first apps to install? Tips for a newbie? This is my first smart TV. I had an older TV with a Chromecast for years.

Do you think Stadia will ever be available natively on this TV?

I saw some people asking about this in other posts and no one had an answer. I just side loaded the messenger apk and the video icon is missing.

I suspect Facebook wrote their app to detect what version of Android and if it was TV they disabled the functionality. Probably to encourage people to buy Portal. Just a theory though.

Not sure if this belongs here but I just got a new chromecast with google TV and have a question about netflix multiple users and continue watching.

I share my netflix account with multiple people. I noticed on the continue watching there are shows from netflix that I am not watching on my user profile from netflix. Is there a way to get continue watching to only sync with one user profile instead of the whole netflix account?

I should have done this research before buying my TV, but there's no rewinding time. A few months ago, I bought a Hisense H8 Quantum TV. I specifically bought an Android TV to stream my PC games to my TV using Rainway, Steam Link, and Moonlight. My internet was finally upgraded, so I played around with it last night and had success. So that's a good sign. But to your knowledge, does the model of Android TV make a difference for game streaming apps, in terms of quality?

I've found the setting in the settings menu, but clicking it only prompts the TTS engine to say 'ticked'

YES, I KNOW IT'S TICKED, I WANT IT UNTICKED.

Anybody know a shortcut or a way to untick the setting at all? All google help posts point to simply unticking the setting that I've found but TTS is mocking me by just saying ticked.

I have a netac 116gb(fat32) that works initially but then says safely remove or not connected. Any brands that work with the Chromecast with Google Tv to expand internal storage

I have a bug where sometimes videos stop working and won't play at all. No matter if it's iptv, youtube or twitch. It won't just play the video. Only fix is restart the device.

Anyone has this problem or has a workaround that doesn't require to restart the box? It happens once every two days but it's annoying as hell.

My RCA Android tv has a shitty remote control and I was wondering if u could use a Sony remote paired by Bluetooth to control all functions of the tv?

Does anyone know if the All 4 app works properly on the new Chromecast with Google TV device? i.e. does it have a 'real' AndroidTV interface instead of just looking like a phone app?

Bonus points - anyone have the APK they can up somewhere for me if so.
