Fun fact, I live in El Salvador, and I have the latest Android TV Home launcher update and I don't see any ad at all, I think this is U.S. region issue

Nothing new here, pretty much the usual "roll back the launcher and don't let it update". Tell us how to block those on the latest version of it!

Meh, nothing new here. I managed to remove most of the ads with pihole installed on a raspberry pi 4. I use it as a network-wide DNS server so ads are blocked not only on the TV. I still do get 2-3 ads every 3-4 (on the TV) YT videos, so its not that bad.

I just updated my Mibox3 to Android 9 and tried to follow the instructions in the link as well as this Reddit article from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/b5ljs2/comment/ejgwe7i

But I think they removed the ability to uninstall updates from both Android TV core services and Android TV Home in your link above. Any suggestions on what to do next, it's bugging the hell out of me?

Pihole installed on a VM will solve most of the ads issue

Seems like installing adguard would fix any issues with ads.

I see a lot of posts last days about this "issue" interesting why i dont have ads on my Xiaomi mi tv stick?

The option to uninstall updates is not available for me.

I've followed the other steps in the past > resetting and turning off auto-updates, so I have no idea how they are back. It is beyond frustrating.

It's so shitty, they're right in your face.

Use hdmi only and remove internet access.
