It happened on my TCL as well so the workaround was to uninstall updates for YouTube which worked..
Yeah just unplug the TV and plug it back in .
Send feedback to the developers within the Settings menu of the YouTube app. I do this almost everytime I have a problem.
Then force-close, maybe clear the app's cache, and re-open the app.
While the issue may be limited to your TV, you can report this and any other issue you have to the YouTube Feedback website.
It's been happening for a few days. Just restart the android system or unplug it.

Ah this happened to be today. I went into settings and force closed the app. Then when I reopened it's everything was fine.
