Hullo peeps,

Could someone confirm/deny whether there is an option to either;

a) easily install a Blue Light Filter app, or
b) quickly change to eye-saving mode, or
c) apply quick settings so that blue lights are reduced?

Basically, I don't want to spend too much time changing the settings manually every time.

Background: I want to buy a new TV as my current one is getting pretty old, and my girlfriend has said yes to pay half if it has a Blue Light filter :D

I got a Philips Android TV about a month ago and connected it to my google account and everything works fine, but the Google Assistant on my TV is UK English, whereas all the settings on my phone for google assistant are set to English (US). It's not a super big deal but it is bothering me a little bit, because I have no idea how to change the language of the Google Assistant on my TV. Does anyone know how to change it or have a similar issue?

I used to run it on raspberry pi but I got an android TV and found RetroArch in the store. So now I have tried both.. The both have a bit of controller delay. Maybe the Raspberry pi has a tiny bit more ..

For what seems like a relatively straightforward task "Play local videos as a screensaver" I'm amazed by the lack of options.

The only app which ever gets linked to or mentioned is "Photo Gallery and screensaver" but that hasn't been updated in over a year and has extremely poor performance and very limited support for 4k and HDR videos.

I'm surprised that no developer has taken it upon themselves to build what I would think should be a fairly basic app to simply play videos from a local folder, at this point I would pay a fortune just to have this problem fixed. Is the Android TV dev space really that empty?

I’ve been trying to search for certain apps that are on the google play store, that won’t appear in the results. So if I search for downloader, nothing appears, yet it’s the first app when I open the tools category. I was trying to find ipvanish which wouldn’t show either. Do I have to configure something in the settings? Even simple searches like “VPN” will only return YouTube results. The hanks

I have CX File Explorer and it lets me stream files I have on my TV's google drive. But it won't show folders that have been shared with this account.

Is there an app that will let me achieve this?

I was under the impression they were the same thing... as in "Android TV = using android to stream, access play store, etc. on a connected [TV] display? I ask because my post about what I thought was an Android TV STB was removed by the mods of this forum citing rule that it has to be about "Android TV". So I am just wondering... if it's not on a magic list of Android TV devices, but it's running Android and streaming / using ATSC pass through, then who has most relevant knoweldge besides Android TV users and developers.... what subreddit would take questions if not this one? AV? Let's be honest, reddit mods are a controlling bunch who seem to be perversely incentivized against free flowing discussion but at some point there has to be a check on the stifling of legitimate knoweldge exchange. Not that I expected a lot as I also know that most reddit posts are quippy 2-second stuff... but occassionally someone with legit knoweldge feels like sharing.

Experiencing some issues with miracast chromecast feature with disconnections while playing audio video or just audio off while displaying

The chromecast built in feature displays in a pop up notif and disappears sometimes

I have been looking through reviews and everyone seems to have a bad time with it. Could it be just day 1 software? Did it get patched the following months. It looks like a cheap way for me to use android tv, since it also has chromecast. I dont really need chromecast with google tv because i dont use streaming services but xiaomi's stick fills in my needs since my tv is only 1080p, apart from the fact that people say its really slow.

Hi Is there a way to group subscriptions into "channels"? Eg: I want to create a "Tech" channel or "Food" channel. I can then put my subscriptions into relevant category. That way, I can watch all "Food" subscriptions together

I have Xumo, Pluto, and an IPTV integrated to my liveTV that makes it very good. I just wish SlingTV (or Philo) would allow us to integrate. My 62 year old mother would finally enjoy it instead of making me their 24/7 tech support.
