My router has the abillity to turn into a ftp/media server if you plug in an external drive. Is it possible to connect to the servers using chromecast with google tv?

I’ve just bought a Mi box S which I primarily want to use as a media box to play video files stored on an external HDD whilst I’m traveling both domestically and internationally.

The box will be loaded with Kodi and VLC to play the video files from the HDD.

The trouble is, I’ve tried mounting various usb drives, ranging from 8gb through to 2tb and differing formats from NTFS, exfat and Fat32.

None of them are being read by the box, a notification is displayed top corner that reads “corrupted San disk usb drive tap to fix”

I’ve read that this was a problem with previous android releases, so I have updated and am running version 9

I’m now performing a system reset to factory settings and starting again.

Any pointers on where I may be going wrong please ladies and gentlemen.

Is there an improvement when updating the android xiaomi mi stick tv? Or it just makes it worse.

I'm just curious how SmartTubeNext blocks the ads, is it sending it through some kind of Proxy? I have YaMon installed on my router and it is never able to record the bandwidth being used when playing youtube through SmartTubeNext.

If I stream anything through any other app on my Google Chromecast with Google TV it records the bandwidth usage just fine., just not through sTube.

Hi everyone I have discovered a trick to resolve the disconnection issue of the USB stick on MiBox S android 9.

1. Remove the USB stick from the MiBox
2. Restart the device (press+hold power button)
3. Reconnect now the USB stick into the MiBox s.
4. Restart again.

Done!

I sideloaded the 2.2 version and it seems to run fine. It plays my purchased content without issue, but I don't have a paid sub so I only assume it plays that as well.

I think this new Walmart Onn Stick (not the box) is a rebranded Xiaomi Mi Stick. The specs and the price match up.

So I got a pop up that there was new software to update so I clicked yes and it started the process as normal. Then towards the end it opened up the android boot loader menu and I was confused but waiting a minute then clicked reboot. And now it won’t turn on at all. After waiting 10 minutes I tried a soft reset but nothing yet.

Any thoughts? Is it bricked?

Hey I had a weird experience. I downloaded nordvpn on my android tv box, used my account to log in, and set the ip location to another country and set it to auto connect. However, when I used chrome or firefox to look for my IP address, some websites showed my real IP address. I'm a bit mystified... does anyone have any idea why that could be? Thabk you so much!

i have to choose between an hdmi converter and an android tv. Can i play it on android tv?

Random issue that popped up out of nowhere today.

When I scroll through anything, menu, volume, channels it just carries in. One press of up on volume and it heads to 100. A left click on a YouTube menu and it won’t stop scrolling.

I have tried a factory reset and everything was fine for an hour or so. But then it started doing it again.

This is on a 2019 Sony Bravia 4K tv.

I know there are exists called Rokkr and Watched. I think Rokkr is a clone of Watched ?

Anyway, those are two that I know of but I want to know if there are other one as well? The reason is that I am looking for one that supports VLC Player because it supports both subtitle for movies and closed captions *CC* for television. Those two apps doesnt have that but MVP only and it supports only subtitles. The developer said that they will not added VLC Player at all and wont supporting such as VLC Player.

The app can now be safely uninstalled if you don't need it from devices that were upgraded to Android 10.

The app no longer ships on devices that come with Android 10 preinstalled.

Google TV also comes without the app.

The app doesn't appear anymore in the Play Store if you look it up by using the on-screen keyboard or voice search, instead, it only appears when using the Google Assistant or when pressing the Live TV button on remote controls that sport it, that must be a bug Google should address.

Are there any Google TV (Android TV) boxes that support LDAC or AptX, AptX LL, AptX HD codecs? Also any support a remote with a headphone jack?

Looking for an android TV box that would allow higher quality audio formats for my headphones or a remote that has a headphone jack.
