WTF is going on with YouTube?

So this is kind of a small rant but ultimately have a question at the end, if its allowed. I have a nice Sony Bravia with Android TV and love it, also have an Xbox one as well. Contrary to the marketing wanks the Xbox is a terrible "All in one" entertainment device as literally no app is optimized for the system, so it shits the bed regularly with everything streaming.

Now to the TV, Netflix is amazing with the Dolby vision on it, streams perfect, no stutters or buffering, Disney and even Hulu do great when I find those to crap out on the good ole Xbox. Also my phone streams 4k over YouTube all day on my network, no lag or anything. So I'm almost certain there's no network issues, as literally every other option is doing fine.

But that fucking YouTube. Always lags, doesn't want to load, have to back out and reload only to watch ads again for it to fail, again. 4k is pretty much undoable and about 20 minutes into watching I'm barely holding on at 720 or even 480. It's shit. Same story on the Xbox

So my question, I've had it, I'm ready to spend coin on a dedicated streaming device ONLY for YouTube IF, and only IF, there is one that it's optimized on very well. I'm not sure such a device exists, I just want to watch good 4k content on my good TV and good internet and not deal with the bullshit anymore.

Anybody have suggestions?

I have the new Google TV UI on my Shield that I managed to put on there but the results you get from the search are still not the same as the ones I get on my Chromecast with Google TV which I greatly prefer due to UI, the easy watchlist, and "ways to watch" button.

Dynalink TV Box

I had it since Last Fall when it came out, I have to say at first it was great they it started acting up, I will also mention I have the new Google TV device also. So Dynalink is just a headache, I had issues with updates such as Android WebView not updating, did all the tricks suggested, nothing worked except factory resets this week is the second time having to do this I never had issue with Google TV and updates if I did the tricks that people suggested work like charm. The other thing with Dynalink is the remote kept having to be reprogramed almost each time I started the device. Today I just decided to factory rest the device and put in in a draw enough is enough. Google TV it is.

How to sync a folder between my laptop and android TV?

I have downloaded some movies on my laptop and I want to watch them on my tv.

Currently, I use Sendfilestotv app to send movies from my laptop to tv. But this a lot of work.

I am looking for an app like Syncthing which syncs files on my laptop and tv over wifi. With something like this, everything happens in the background, I need not do anything.

My tv has 32GB internal storage, so storage in tv is not a problem.

One can use hdmi cable to play movies on laptop on tv. But I don't have hdmi cable. Also, I don't want to keep my laptop turned on during this process.

Channel signal meter?

I have a Philips 50' 4k Android TV with everything updated. It's the newest model line.

How do I check the signal strength of an OTA tv channel, is there even a way to do it on an Android tv. I used to be able to on all my old TV's even back to a 2006 plasma I had, I'd rather not have to buy an extra device to do something it should already do.
