I know the Onn remote will operate the TV's power and volume, but can the volume buttons be independently programmed to operate another device (at the very least, a soundbar, but I have an old Panasonic surround sound system I was hoping it might work with.) TIA!

in MI box S if I change my output resolution, it should limit the app to download for the available resolution right?

Say for example I change my resolution to 720p from settings, the app will lower the dl quality itself to 720p, or it will still download the best possible resolution according to speed, and then downscale it to 720p?

• Many shops are selling it claiming compatibility.

I have a Bravia Android TV and I'm looking for what I thought would be a simple command but I literally can't find anything on it anywhere.

Basically, I want to set up a command where if the TV is turned off, it will also turn off a couple of TP-Link Kasa Smart Plugs.

What drives me nuts is that I'm pretty sure Samsung has that baked into Smartthings already but I cannot for the life of me find something like that in Google Home, the Kasa app, or even IFTTT and that makes me feel like I'm missing something obvious. If anyone's got any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi all, I work for a school and we’re looking at putting TVs in to display when students make certain achievements. We specifically want to use an app that’s on the google play store.

Are the apps that are available on the android TVs limited to streaming channels or can I theoretically download any app that’s in the play store?

How can i cancel the update,it is not allowing some apps to work?

I am at a loss for what to do and looking for support. I’ve got a Bravia x900h and the soft keyboard won’t come up in any apps including stock ones. It used to be that I would go into settings and uninstall updates for gboard, but doing that no longer works for me and still cannot get the keyboard to come up. Does anyone else have this issue or recommendations how to fix it?

I’m having a Philips Android TV which seem not to get updates any longer. This results in some issues regarding some apps. Moreover the default apps eat up the storage. I wonder if there is an option to flash a kind of vanilla rom on a AndroidTV and if yes how this would be done.

So I just got a GoogleTV television since TCL’s updated 6 series that has 2.1 and 4K 120hz is a GoogleTV but I’m new to this interface coming from Roku.

I was trying to get eARC to work for my sound bar so it would turn on/off and volume automatically from my TV remote and saw that I would need to enable the CEC option.

But enabling that option enables it for all of my inputs, including my PlayStation 5. It’s listed under the CEC option, with no option to include or remove it from the setting.

So now my sound bar works perfectly with the tv remote. Except what happens now, is if I go to settings - inputs, and switch to HDMI 2 (which is what the PS5 is plugged into) it’ll switch to the PS5, and I can see it and use the controller. But the second I try to click or hold on the “home” button on the controller (ie the button that literally looks like the PlayStation logo), the TV instantly switches to this input titled “PlayStation 5” and says “no input found.”

If I go back into HDMI 2 I can switch back to the PlayStation, but the home button is essential for getting to the control panel, switching or closing apps, turning the device off. What the heck is happening and how can I change it? So far, I can use my PlayStation WITHOUT the sound bar, or I can use my tv and sound bar but not with the PlayStation. I am wildly confused.

**also if anyone has any tips for some good websites to get used to the GoogleTV settings and how to customize all the picture and stuff to your desire let me know cause what I’m seeing from settings doesn’t feel satisfactory.

Hi, my 4K TCL tv is basically brand new, had it for a few weeks. I've noticed the dashboard is quite slow. I've checked if theres an update but there isn't unless i do it manually via USB. I have also downloaded all my apps so i don't want to have to redownload them if i do update.

I'm currently on V625. Which is version 9. Which version should i be updating to? Any downsides to updating the software?? Thank you.

I'm seeing way to much motion Blur on my tv when in seeing any 4k content, and the tv is too laggy. If i buy a good streaming box those problems will be gone?

I have been getting this error code on my CCwGTv and my shield pro since yesterday. Phones play netflix fine. Tried searching for solutions which point to rebooting devices / routers / uninstalling app etc but nothing works. Is anyone else facing this issue on their Android TVs?

I've got some issues with the OS on the new Philips OLED856 and just wondering if these are Philips specific, Android TV in general, and if there are fixes or any help around?

• The right-side quick menu has about 2 useful options in a sea of junk
• There's no reset/restart (apart from pulling the plug), using a button remapper I got the standard android power menu, but couldn't 'click' on any of the options.
• The screensaver is some naff bouncing Philips logo rather than the Chromecast picture, and it ignores the screensaver setting.
• There's no explanation of good portion of the options in the picture setting menus (the onboard help covers the bare basics), and there's doesn't even seem to be a digital manual.

I have the Mi Box S which works pretty well but the constant audio glitches are getting annoying and it doesn't look like they're going to get around to fixing them. I've considered a Nvidia shield but that seems aimed at gaming rather than simple streaming so it's harder to justify the price. Is there something in-between with 4K(+) that anyone can recommend? I guess other features that might be a bonus would be RJ45 and an sd-card slot.

So, I just bought a $700 Hisense ULED TV. 65" and it's a beautiful panel. I want to game on it but wondering whether the shield is really worth it JUST for remote gaming. I feel kind of silly spending an additional $200 on the shield pro if the only added value is gaming in 4k. Thoughts? Thanks

I bought the TV that was released in June 2020. The remote's keyboard and voice recognition does not work anymore with apps, including YouTube. The front of the remote works normally. The mic isn't picking up any sound for some reason. It was after the latest TV update. Is there any way for it to work again?

Edit: The update unpaired the remote from the TV. So I pressed the pair button for 3 seconds and it fixed it.
