I've tried a bunch of web browser apps, and it doesn't seem like any of them work. None of them seem to load a webpage or play a video on a webpage.

Do I really need to connect a tablet to my TV with HDMI, and open a webpage or play a video on the webpage on the tablet?

What is the best Android TV for streaming from apps like TeaTv without issues? I'm sure the kids would like something with better games on it also..

Maybe something I can make other profiles on like a firestick?

I'm using a firestick right now but it seems slow and laggy when I use TeaTv with express vpn..

I have to delete apps and clear cache from games & apps that are downloaded to use TeaTv fast and efficiently without issue.

On my 2019 Shield the Peacock app downloads twice. Specifically, there are two icons/apps that download to the home screen. If I delete one, the other goes with it. I tried clearing the cache and deleting the information on the app. Nothing works. Anyone else experiencing this or have any solutions?

Are there any apps or just settings that can be changed to make Android TVs look more like a piece of art when not in use?

I recently convinced my partner to go with a Sony A80J over a Frame TV because I figured we could get a similar artwork simulation effect using Google's ambient mode, and darkening the backlight (which also unfortunately requires the extra step of switching display modes). However it still has artwork info text that can't be removed in the settings.

Does anyone know of an app or settings that can be changed to get an experience similar to the Samsung Frame TV?

I want to side load Rocket League Sideswipe onto Chromecast with Google TV, think this may work since the game fully supports game controller. I'll pair a xinput game pad to the Google TV.

When watching 24p content on the Disney+ app on my shield tv pro, I get an occasional stutter every so-many-seconds. I believe it has to do with how their app processes 24p content. It's almost like they're doing a 3:2 pulldown to convert the frame rate to 60hz, even though this shouldn't be necessary on a 120hz display. This doesn't happen when using the native Disney app on my TV, or when using other apps like netflix on the shield.

Before anyone asks, I would prefer to use the shield because the picture quality overall is slightly better than using the app on the TV, but the frame rate stutter is very distracting.

Anyone else experience this? Any word from Disney on updating their Android app so it can display their content at its appropriate frame rate?

Ive turned the tv on and off but I still can’t redeem the 6 months free.

I want to play what's on the screen of my tablet on the smart TV. I feel like there could be delay if I wireless cast to Roku or Chromecast with Google TV. To avoid this, I'm thinking of just connect the tablet to the TV with an HDMI cable, but how do I now charge the tablet, since this uses the only USB port on the tablet.

Is there a thing that will let me charge the tablet and connect it to the TV with USB to HDMI cable?

EDIT #2 on 12/14: I jumped in with both feet and grabbed up a Pro when it went on sale yesterday! I hope I have a great experience, especially since I just wiped out a year’s worth of passive app earnings in a single purchase 🤑

EDIT TO ADD: since the Shield (8 GB) is on sale today for $129, might it be good enough, instead of Shield Pro which I cannot find on sale? Or does it have the same storage issues as other 8gb boxes?
I guess I should have mentioned I need 1 USB port for my keyboard’s dongle, and it doesn’t seem the Shield has one, so I might have to get a new keyboard too :(

I’ve gone through too many boxes over the past 7-ish years looking forward a good one; the only one still working well was sold to my friend years ago. 
I’m raising my budget to around $100, and I hope there is still a BF deal out there (or Cyber Monday coming tomorrow) for a box with at least:
•16 GB storage (8 GB keeps filling up)
•4K output
•Netflix, native in at least HD (if not 4K)
•Kodi-compatible 
•Google Play compatible (I’m done with side-loading apps where the next update is always incompatible)

Bought this TV earlier this year with built-in Chromecast. It's never actually functioned and I feel like I must be missing something.

Model name of the TV is HiSmartTV A4, version "9" (I'm guessing that means the Android version?) and software version is from March 2021. It claims this is up to date. Android security patch is from February 2021. It also claims this is up to date. Chromecast built-in is version 1.56.275391 though I also tried factory resetting that and it still didn't work (that gave version 1.44.xxxxxx)

I wish I had any error codes to offer. The TV appears in the list of receivers when we try to cast the Oculus Quest 2, but it returns an "unknown error" that simply recommends restarting the receiver. Well, I have. I've also factory reset it 3x to no avail. Both devices are on the same wifi network. The Oculus was able to cast to my phone easily and immediately so it's not the issue. I've also tried to cast to the TV with other devices (my phone, laptop) and none have worked.

The TV has been on the home screen while we've tried to cast to it and nothing has ever come up on screen to indicate it was trying to connect/be connected to by anything.

I saw someone on here once mention another app called CastReceiver so I downloaded the trial for that to try and still received the same error and the same lack of acknowledgement from the TV.

Am I missing something? Does the TV have some sort of firewall on it? Is there an app missing that needs to be installed?

Any help is appreciated because I've hit a wall on what else to try. Googling hasn't helped- no one else seems to have this issue. Is the TV simply broken?

Hey! I was just diving into the world of Android TVs for the first time and I think I found a good fit, but I'm a bit confused as I saw mixed opinions, will the Mecool KM2 run a 40GB 4K HDR movie (maybe more sometimes) from an external SSD drive smoothly?

I know the Sheild Pro is better but it's obviously much pricier so It's out of my list.

I'm using a Sony Bravia android tv and I have disabled the stock Youtube app and use the Smart Youtube app instead.

My Recommended and subscribed content appear on the home screen but when I click on them it asks me to enable the stock youtube app.

I was wondering if there is a way to open the links in my preferred application from the home screen?

What is the maximal speed you can reach on the shield tv pro? With and without VPN? I have a MiBox at this moment and I'm planning to buy the shield. I have a gigabit internet connection at home.

Just bought the onn. Android TV box. Watching on a 1080p TV.

I'm noticing what seems to be a low framerate for some streaming channels, mostly on Youtube TV and some live TV streams from Pluto TV so far.

Video looks a little choppy. Watchable, but not as smooth as my Google Chromecast running on same TV.

It's especially noticeable for sports, and old movie channels, for some reason.

However, Netflix, Prime Video, Tubi, and some HD content on Youtube looks fine so far, including action scenes with lots of motion.

So it seems to depend on the quality of the stream to create this effect.

I've changed the display settings to 1080p 24hz (instead of Auto), but it didn't help.

Anybody else seen something like this?

Hi, I can control the volume of my old sony receiver using the onn 4k remote but I’m not able to turn the power on/off (i’ve tried setting up Power and cycled through all 9 option but none of it worked.

Previously I used the firetv 4k and it was able to control both power and volume for the sony receiver.

Is there a way i can have it to learn the ir for power button from another remote? Probably thru rooting the box or some other method

I have a Mi Box S with latest firmware on a Samsung tv 4k of 2019. I noticed some stuttering when i see something on Netflix, particularly 4k hdr videos. It happens every 15 seconds. I already reset tv and mi box, chenge hdmi cable and hdmi port on tv. The second problem with Mi Box S is that after it goes in stand by, the colours on tv turns more faded, then when i change the settings ybrc from 420 to 444 they returns vivid. Why is this happen? The first problem is really annoying in fact i have to ure netflix app directly from tv.

With the mi stick tv i have other type of problem, for example in certain point like home page on youtube app, when there are many white writings, they sparkling or flickering i don't known the correct term. If i record it, on video doesn't shown nothing. I don't known if is a problem form tv or mi stick...

A friend is giving me his Samsung 55" TV MU6500 as he's upgrading. I currently (old tv) use an older knock-off android box to use netflix and kodi to access my Win10 shared directory. Now we have disney+ but the android box doesn't support the disney+ app.

So my choices are to use the netflix and disney+ built into the new tv, but then how can I access my Win10 PC downstairs in the house? I don't want to cast from the computer to the tv, as the person using the tv is far away in the house... so want to view contents of a folder on my Win10 pc.

If the tv can not do this (Samsung MU6500 Series 6) I don't mind buying a new android box which would only need to play netflix, disney+, but allow me into my Win10 pc.

I followed the online guide which instructed me to turn on developer mode and allow installation of unknown applications

However, it prompted "App not installed" every time I tried

Is Sony not allowing us to sideload apps or am I missing something?

Can anyone advice?
