Hey guys I have a 55s546 and I’m having trouble figuring out a easier way to get to the sleep timer then going all the way through the settings and selecting the timer that way. I should have researched the tv before I bought it on Black Friday. It is a good tv but that part is bugging me. I have a routine I do every night before bed because of my insomnia and it involves the tv turning off after 30 minutes. It would be awesome if I was able to get it to the settings overlay and not have to dig all the way in.

I was trying to figure out why my ONN UHD streaming box was not saving my WiFi password after restarts and/or hard power cycles and after switching to another AP.

I finally figured out that with WPA3 with WPA2 fallback activated on my openWRT 21.02 AP it would not save my WiFi password, but if I changed the security to WPA2 with WPA fallback, the ONN device saved the WiFi password.

Also the ONN device would always take a quite a while to connect to and sometimes do a soft reboot when trying to connect to the AP with WPA3 enabled.

Any one else have this issue with connecting to WiFi AP's running OpenWRT 21.02 with WPA3 with WPA2 fallback enabled?

I tried to call onn support to get the issue put on their feedback list, but got a script reading non-native English speaker that could not grasp what I was trying to do. After much frustration, he gave me a phone number that he assured me had people that could log my issue: he gave me the number to Handy partners for Walmart that help to install flatscreen TV's in people's homes. :-( Walmart service FTW!

Sorry if this isn't the right sub to ask this. I googled a ton and couldn't seem to find the exact same scenario, and I'm posting in a few related subs to find answers.

I have an LG CX, shield pro 2019, all running through a Sony STR-DH790 AVR, all connected with 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 cables. The shield is on a very strong 5 Ghhz wifi band. I was watching The Witcher season 1 earlier today on the shield Netflix app, and DolbyVision engaged appropriately. I went away for a couple of hours, came back, started to watch season 2, and I'm no longer getting DV. I do get the "VISION-ATMOS" logo on the show screen in Netflix, but it just doesn't switch on now. Even going back to season 1 doesn't engage it.

By all accounts, I assume my configuration is correct since it was working earlier. I do have DV enabled on the shield, and my current resolution says "DolbyVision and HDR ready". My DV content on plex works correctly. So I'm not sure what's going on here. Any help is appreciated!

Hi - looked through the thread and I'm struggling to casting youtube/netflix from my Iphone (11 Max Pro) to my TV via the Mi Box X ? The Mix Box doesnt come up in the cast options (top right corner) of the Youtube/Netflix app

The casting did work at the start but since I did the patch.. it stopped working via casting from my mobile/computer (rendering via VLC)

Does anyone have any solutions?

- restart my router (same wiireless wifi network)

- uninstall/install chromecast on the mix box s

- factory reset the mi box

- disabled Youtube and Netflix and enabled

- Restart my mobile phone and the mi box S

- Downloaded Google Home on my iphone (no luck)

I can buy an Android TV that has 7.0 version OS with a big discount.

Does the OS version matter?

Will I have security issues having an older version?

Will I have problems browsing web with it?

Will newer apps not have support for Android 7?

If I should be expecting such problems, then which version of androidTV would be optimal to buy in 2021-22?

Android experience is also much the same?

SmartTubeNext was properly working for me until 2 days ago. Now, it takes 2-5 minutes for the home screen to load. The thumbnails load so slow, search suggestions doesn't show when I search, videos don't start. It may look like that the connection is slow but pretty sure it's not my Wi-Fi because everything is fine on my other devices. I even did a speed test on my Android TV and it showed a decent speed. Any help?

edit : it got fixed by itself after a few days? i did nothing but its normal now.

Is there a way to send media wirelessly to a Android this external storage? It keeps saying it's not writable when I try to send things to a flash drive or external hard drive. I've even tried a FTP but it can't get around the storage devices being not writable. So how do I make it writable or what device or external hard drive/flash drive could make this process easier?

Basically I'm wanting to send files from phone to TV with as much ease as it is sending files from phone to phone through bluetooth/wirelessly

I had a problem that after the latest update i lost any permissions related to modify my external HDD connected to the Mi Box S. so i can't transfer files via FTP as before or even renaming folders and files ! which is very very annoying.

Some phone apps/games only have a portrait screen version and no landscape version. When loading these apps on an Android TV, the whole tv screen fills up with only the middle part of the app making the upper and lower parts invisible. The screen basically needs to be zoomed out to make the whole app appear, I don't mind when black bars appear on the sides.

Is there any way to do this on an Android TV?

Hi there, Today my Google TV Chromecast just isn't working? I have unplugged and replugged everything internet related and the dongle itself. It says it is connected to the wifi and every thing else in my house IS connected to wifi and is working find. Just not the Chromecast that says it has connection. Any fixes or is this happening to anyone else? It's been like this for about 6 hours now

So I picked up this cheap box to play around with today and first thing I notice is that the Play Store's interface is eerily similar to the one on my Android phone. Sure enough, I can only download mobile apps and not apps designed for Android TV. Simple apps like Spotify and Twitch are a complete pain to navigate through because they're not optimized for Android TV.

Is there a way to switch my Play Store to the Android TV version or any other possible way to get access to the Android TV versions of apps as opposed to their mobile versions? I've never seen this before.

Well, I wasn't aware that I could not get Hulu on the S I have it on my other Mibox. This ridiculous I don't pay for Hulu live. I pay for the on-demand service so why not just let people have the on-demand service and never mind the live feature of the service. Well I didn't get too bad of a deal on this one. I only paid $60 for it but still it's kind of frustrating. When you want an app on there you can't get it. Then I hear you can put an APK on it for Hulu. How long does that last before the app starts having issues and you have to try to find another APK to download again. 🙄

I want to buy Y Otg cable to expand storage in order to play retro games with larger roms. So what kind of storage should I use with it? I already have a 1TB drive.

Just got a new Sony x85j tv, and after setting it up, total shock. Everything full with trash, adds, recommendations and useless stuff. I’ve seen the app-only mode, but this is not what I’m looking for.

I like the stock Android TV on my old xh9005.

Is there any way, make the new tv look and feel like the old? I’ve seen posts about other 3rd party launchers (leanback launcher etc.) but I’m looking for a way to make stock google tv look like stock android tv.

Any ideas?

I just bought this new TV. It's incredible with the ambient light and colors. But I noticed something, in the half light scenes (both films or PS5 videogames) the image seems like having a grain and a strange texture. Doesn anyone know how to set the TV for the best image experionce?

So a few days ago I attempted opening HBOMax on my Android TV and all I got was a black screen. I've done many things in an effort to fix the issue but nothing has worked so far. I've tried restarting the TV, looking for an update on the Google play store, clearing the data and cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. I'm guessing it has something to do with an update they made to the app. Has anyone else run into this issue and/or know a possible fix?

EDIT: Looks like this issue has been fixed for me. Glad it finally works.

Previously i was using Chromecast with Google TV, it has My5 and ITV Hub, still annoying no All4.

I bought my new OLED 2021 Sony TV with Google TV, i tried to find ITV Hub in the Play Store and its missing. Very dissapointing.
