Edit 1: Google home app can only control the volume and cast my screen, that's it. Do not suggest it.

Edit 2: Unfortunately Android Tv Remote Service probably have some bad issues and thats why some apps, including the official Xiaomi remote app, cant recognize and see my Mi Box.

Edit 3: Zank Remote App works, without a bunch of annoying ads. the app is kinda unintuitive, but hey, it works, despite all other apps that I tried :))

Edit 4: for the love of god this is so weird, I tried installing and checking google home app(that the majority is suggesting) and found no controls or remote button, and after I tried to install and check it for the fifth time, it suddenly worked, giving me the remote button and all the controls, although the keyboard option once was there and now is gone. what?

Edit 5: Apparantly I have gone back to Zank remote app, installed it, then i reopened Google Home, and the keyboard was there.... help, this is misery

I have a Mi Box S 4K and the Mi Remote App can't see my Mi Box (thanks Xiaomi). so I am looking for an actually usefull and well made tv remote app for an android phone. If all free ones are bad then you can suggest paid apps too.

I have Philips 70PUS8506 and Samsung Q700A which are connected via eARC. When I try to play a movie with Dolby Vision video and TrueHD audio via JustPlayer, the TrueHD audio does not trigger the Dolby Atmos meanwhile normal DDP audios trigger Atmos just fine. Why could this be?

I have a 4k projector running Android 9, however, the OS resolution is 1920x1280. If I play a movie in an app running on the projector is it possible to get 4k resolution?

I tested this a lot. Using the Jellyfin app (it's like Plex) running on the projector itself, 4k movies look as good or better than playing from a PC that is 4k connected via HDMI.

I just bought Xbox series s and when I turn off the HDR I can watch the 4K stuffs on Netflix, Prime and Apple TV+ in 4K SDR. The hdr on my tv is terrible and when I turn it off on my mi box s, it still play the 4K hdr files. So I’m wondering, is there any android tv box that can do what the Xbox did? Like when I turn off hdr, it will change the 4K hdr files to 4K sdr?

Minor inconvenience, but any time I turn my TV on it defaults to the Google TV screen instead of opening the hdmi that was most recently on.

Is there a way to get this menu to go away and just have my TV open to my hdmi?

Is there something better than chomecast with better memory? The problem I have is I can't put all the apps or channels I want without it saying there is no space left without deleting other apps.

I'm stuck in a choice between these two "boxes". The Mi Box seems more robust and even has a USB port so I can use a mouse when needed. But the Mi Stick 4k has a newer android 11 os running it instead of the android 8 in the Mi Box.

Does the android version make any difference between the two? I won't require any portability.

title. I’ve been wanting to watch some 3d videos on youtube and I’ve noticed that when it’s not the typical cyan/red 3d it splits in two. the problem is that I can’t figure out whether it is the nvidia that doesn’t support 3d or something else. has anyone else had a similar problem?

My sony tv with android 7.0 wont update to recent amdroid tv version which looks way cooler imo. Current version is too laggy :( is there any way to install the recent update?

I got a used shield tube. Didn't come with a remote. Whoever previously owned it still has their google account on it. The psu was bad. I fixed it within a hr after getting it in the mail.

I was able to connect my cell with the remote app. I couldn't figure out how to connect to wifi. Seems to instantly disable wifi when using wired. And when I disconnect the ethernet cable, lose connection to shield in my remote app.

Got annoyed & shut it off for the day. I was wanting to factory reset it but after watching some vids, seems like the official remote or controller is required to continue in the setup process. But I could be wrong.

Really don't want to waste $30-50 on a remote just to finish the setup. I plan on mainly using my cell & xbox series controller.

Currently,I have a Sony Bravia XBR-55X700D with GoogleTV. This TV is pretty slow to navigate around the menus. I was hoping someone could point me to a list of TVs with their benchmarks or processor specs. I checked the link in the info bar here but the TV section is blank.
