My son loves talking to Grandma through our Lenovo 10-in smart display. So when Google said they were putting Duo app on Android TV I hopped on Amazon and found an "Aukey" Webcam That was very comparable to the top of the line logitechs that are currently sold out.

I installed the app plugged in my webcam which works. I get a picture but the picture is terrible. Does anyone know if Google will be fixing this down the road? or did I cheap out on a camera and this is the result. I mean it wasn't exactly cheap it was $60 but you catch my meaning would I be better off waiting and buying a Logitech when they become available again or hoping Google will be implementing a feature within the app to help third-party webcams calibrate?

Hey guys, I recently bought a Phillips 804 65 and thought I could put it in an Google home audio group as easily as my speakers or chromecast. But nada, whatever I do the TV doesn't show up in the selection screen for an audio group. Can somebody help me?

My setup is very basic I download my stuff put it on an external hard drive plug it into my tv and play it. This works fine for 99% of files but I do run into an issue of compatibility sometimes. For instance my tv does not recognise PGS subtitle files which can be a pain when watching foreign movies as sometimes finding the .srt files which my tv can read can be tricky. Very occasionally I may have an issue with an audio format as well.

I would like to purchase some kind of device that I can plug my hard drive into and connect to my tv so it would be able to play practically every file type without a problem.

I have heard android boxes might work but I'm not sure if that would be the best solution, I have also heard good things about the nvidia shield boxes but I don't have the money to be able to buy one of those.

Can anyone here with more knowledge than myself recommend me a good solution that is preferably not too expensive?

I have a Shield and it is great but I need a low budget box for a guest room and the Shield is overkill for that. I just want something that can run Google's Live Channels app as well as Netflix. I tried a firestick and the lack of live channels was a deal breaker.

There are 2 issues.

1. After 3 days of inactivity remote controller will lose connection to device and I am not able to turn the device on with remote controller. I need to unplug and plug to power again.

2. If I want to skip this problem I will turn off automatic sleep and the device is still running. Problem with this is overheating.

So I have a new Android TV from TCL (model 40ES560) and I can't make the chromecast built-in work when the TV is off.

I want it to behave as my standalone Chromecast: always on and, whenever I cast something, the TV is turned on. However, this doesn't work in Android TV it seems.

I enabled fast startup and standby networking in settings, but no luck. The TV is connected using an Ethernet cable, not Wifi, and the lights in the switch are steady lit, but no luck in finding it in Fing or nmap, so I guess if this is more an issue in the TCL software.

I just tried the Smart Youtube TV app and tested it with the Morocco in 8K video. I noticed that even though it's playing at 4K 60 fps VP9 on the best bitrate possible, the image is a bit softer than in the official app. There are also signs of tearing and weird artefacts in some edges. They are barely visible, but I definitely noticed the difference in sharpness. I did A/B testing with the same scene switching back and forth quickly. Has anyone else noticed the same? I have a Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 btw.

Hola soy de Argentina quería comentar mi experiencia ya que no hay mucha información. Amazon Prime Video funciona muy mal, los subtítulos se atrasan cada vez que se utiliza, así que si te la compras para ver Prime video, no se lo recomiendo. Netflix anda bien. El Chromecast incluido que tiene no funciona tan bien como el Chromecast original. El resto regular, no es el aparato más fluido del mundo pero cumple. Mi consejo es que vayan por una Mi box S, o esperen a la proxima version del stick.

How can i exit picture in picture (PIP) mod on Android tv 9.0. previously there was notification on top of homescreen. But now no notification, so how can I exit PIP.

I have a Hisense Android TV running Android 9, I used to use Button Mapper just fine (I first installed in when I had Android 8 but even after the update it worked just fine.)

I had to reset the TV and now I'm unable to find the Button Mapper option under Accessibility.

I need help to figure this out please.
