I'm interested in importing the latest google chromecast with TV, but as i understand it, currently it's only available for US market, and more or less customized for US market currently.

If i happen to import it and use it on unsupported region, would i receive an update to firmware that's more customized to my region later when available ? Would they know that i've imported it to outside of US ?

I've tried 3 different devices android devices and w/ all 3 the screen will go black then back on even w/ the device on the home page (over and over) devices do work on any other tv. they have dish on an Hdmi tried that and other Hdmi plugs so not hardware. Anyone know of a software setting on the TV?

Is it by design (or the app developer's fault) that when you click on "Watch Now" from Google TV it plays the last episode of a series, and not the first / next episode?

It's been really annoying. I found the new Star Trek Lower Decks through Google TV, and I was watching the last episode of the series for 20 minutes before noticing the problem.

Edit: It’s worth adding I’ve since isolated this issue to Prime Video, with playing the last episode in the series. Other apps (BBC iPlayer) are smarter.

Just got a sofabaton remote as a gift. Looks like it works with fire tv. Anyone know if it is a good fit for android tv?

Hey Guys, running across an odd issue on my Google TV. I live in Canada but use ExpressVPN for US Netflix, this works fine on FireTV but on google TV the VPN connects and Netflix shows they it's on US Netflix BUT shows are missing. For example Star Trek TOS, I was watching through on FireTV before getting Google TV, and works fine on VPN but on Google TV Star Trek of any series is missing from the US Netflix so I need to disable the VPN to go back to Canada Netflix to watch it. I thought the US must have removed the Star Trek series from the lineup. But I just checked the FireTV and my Home PC the series is on both US and Canada Netflix. So that leads me to believe GoogleTV its self is blocking access to certain shows for some reason? Anyone have any idea what's going on and Why? other shows play fine but shows like Star Trek and Twilight Zone(Twilight is only in the US so that's how I used to tell which one I was on) are missing on GoogleTV on VPN.

I recently sideloaded the Firefox tv to my android tv but not able to use my android tv remote to control and move around in Firefox at all. Is it possible to make the android tv remote like a mouse,just like in puffin tv?

OK, so I cannot find the overscan/screen zoom settings on my Chromecast with Google TV stick (they REALLY need a shorter name).

Is it not an option anymore? Or am I just missing it?

I tried pairing but it seems the tivo remote is glitchy. When moving around the menus it will lag at times, most the time.

I’ve tried resetting the remote to default settings, but same experience.

Lastly, the volume buttons don’t work and other buttons.

Like post says. Can't for the life of me find the right button selection to bring up open apps to close like I can on the shield. Am I missing something? Would like the ease of mind of closing apps easily like I normally would.

Can't seem to find reasonable answers on what to do. I purchased the new Google Tv chromecast. It was working great and is awesome to integrate everything. But now I've got this weird issue where the screen and audio go black for a second or two then come back and I can't figure out how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It's not turning off because what I'm watching still keeps playing when the video and audio come back its like it never stopped. It's also not my tv. It only does this with the chromecast and I've tried different HDMI ports.

So, on Thursday, I was unceremoniously logged out of YouTube TV on Google TV. I found this very odd. But when I signed back in, I noticed that account switching was enabled (as it has been on core Android TV for, what, over a year now?).

Yet, today, I went to use this handy dandy feature, and...it's gone again!

Argh. Did anyone else get this sneak preview of YTTV one-click account switching on Google TV?

I have 2 chromecast with Google TV devices on 2 different TVs. Same Google user on both, same apps, etc. but continue watching is different on each. Why would that be? Some of them are the same, some are not. Would think they would sync being same user etc? Anybody else with multiple that can weigh in?

I have a Harmony remote that I use with my Nvidia Shield. I loaded Smart YouTube and it works fine except that the pause, play, FF and rewind buttons on the remote don't do anything. They work fine in the YouTube app itself. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

What would you guys recommend? Should I get one with its own power adapter?

I'm looking into buying the family an Android Box to replace our media PC. The only thing I need this box for is streaming Netflix, Prime, and Disney+ (non-4k). If I can get access to other shows and movies that are not yet on these streaming platforms (example: torrents) that would be a huge plus.

Having said that, what would you all recommend off Amazon?

My tv doesn't recognize ds4 properly. Any drivers I can install or something I can do?

I believe that google would integrate google home into Android TVs. Managing your smart home from your tv seems useful. TVs are probably the center of your home. Lg has done something like that with their TVs and seems interesting. What do you think?

What would be your ideal TV OS or what would you wish was fixed, alter or changed from Android TV?

Does the add riddled Google OS anger you? Would you change your device because of it? Or do you like this direction?

1)Auto frame rate 2)Better user management 3)More support for app dev from regular Android 4) more consistent purpose of back button/ remove ' are you sure you want to quit this app' message 5)more uniform keyboards as some apps have an alphabetical list which I hate 6) a too watch list and seen list built into the OS for each user and from every app, maybe combine this with live TV/ live streams 7) never show adds in the OS this is tacky, maybe make smart suggestions of shows and films but give me the option to turn this off

I'm not a Dev not my any means, for any that are, are any of these hard to do? Or is it just the shear number of apps/devs that makes this difficult?

I need to get a smart TV or stick, I found the xiaomi Mi stick is good because we can’t put any power bricks as we have a very tight space, If I got the mi stick, I could add a power bank or connect it to the tv’s usb. Mi box s is... because our space is tight, we can’t power it With the adapter. I need decent choice not something with 4k, ultra hd. Which one should I choose?

I have tried several alarm apps (macropinch, next etc), but most don't play the entire mp3 file, instead cut around a minute mark, and restart from the start, eventually looping.
