Hello, I’ve noticed there are android tv apps that aren’t available on chromecast with google tv. One app like this was at&t tv now. I was able to find the tv version apk of this app and sideload it on my chromecast with google tv and it works fine. I’m having real trouble though finding apks for tv versions for apps though. All apk searches take me to mobile version of apps. It seems if there is a fire stick version of an app it works but i cannot find fire stick versions of apps. For example I want to find the motogp android tv app but I can’t find the tv apk version it always takes me to the mobile one. Any advice?

Title says it all. Would like to use android tv but apparently nothing I can load on a pc (windows, linux, other; and android OS is only for phones). So I have to buy an android tv or a device like Nvidia Shield. I think that may be the best/cheapest option. Anyone know of a better way? I'm in the States.

Hi, I have a problem with my Mibox S . When I activate auto-framerate in Tivimate or opening a video on Vimu it blocks and my TV shows a "No Signal". I have to restart my box.!

I am currently using Nvidia Shield TV Pro and it's working well, but it does not support 60FPS on YouTube, I actually dunno if TVs in general support 60fps or can view it, but I would love to have an Android TV box which has the 4k 60fps option.

For reference my TV is a Philips OLED 4k from summer 2018 and unfortunately it's not working well with its apps which is why I am using a shield tv pro, I just miss 60fps, whenever I see videos of YouTubers saying that the vid is in 60 FPS or I see it with 60fps option on my browser on PC it makes me miss having that option on my Shield TV Pro. I hope at some point they will release a new box which supports it if no better box is out yet.

Hi I am Wag, or MawMaw. I moved from a 32" with a roku to a 50" Android. No need for a roku now. Only one app I am not able to get that I had on my roku, so I am pretty happy. I am older (61) so while change is good it's also a tad overwhelming. Do y'all have any advice for a newbie? Something I may want to add? So much to explore. Stay safe and well 🤗

I've bought a VBox Android TV Gateway that is running Android TV (8.0) but when I connect ethernet, Play Store and Youtube report no internet access, even if also connected via wire, I have to unplug ethernet to use either.

Other apps, such as Deezer, web browser etc work fine, so it definitely has a connection.

Any help appreciated!

I bought a 2020 58" Hisense H8G Android smart tv. I have some issues with it since there doesn't seem to be any way to make all icons and text bigger, neither can I find a way to change the picture settings to eliminate the large black bars that appear above and below certain movies. I was wondering, would the other Android smart tv brands be any better (Sony, TCL, etc), or is the user interface the same?

Hi, recently got a TCL C715 TV and I'm having trouble with getting 5.1 surround working through optical in Plex and Kodi and also VLC, I've tried every combination I could but nothing. It only puts out Stereo.

When accessing Plex with DLNA and using the built in Media player the surround works nicely.

Did anyone encountered this issue? Any tips? Thanks!

Edit: I tried it over ARC, same thing no surround when using apps only works with built-in player.

I have Android tv 9.0 and i have been having this one problem for a while now, i can't access my tv's settings while ysing some apps like disney +, so does anyone know what should i do, also my remote doesn't have a buttom for settings, there is buttom called menu, which in some apps opens settings.

Why can't I see Paramount+ as a provider for it's own shows while using Chromecast w/Google TV? I am subscribed and linked but Paramount+ is not offered as a service to watch ST; Discovery and ST; Picard.

I’ve been using the Smart Tube Next app and one day I accidentally used the stock YouTube app and was reminded of how much more beautiful it looks in comparison. Is there any YouTube app with no ads that looks just like the stock app? I would use Smart YouTube TV but it’s no longer supported by the developer unfortunately.

I recently figured out a way to spoof the Play Store to get incompatible apps that wouldn't normally be available to me.

I'm trying to source APKs for the Android TV Freeview apps (Explore Freeview Play, All4, etc.) to see if they're compatible with other Android TV devices and share this with others.

Unfortunately, I need the build.prop or the build info exported from an app like Aurora Store to get the apps. Could anybody help me out? Been waiting literally YEARS to get all UK catch-up apps on Android TV.

I'm not sure when it started, sometime in the last couple weeks, but the Prime Video app on both my Nvidia Shield Pro and my CCGTV devices started automatically playing previews when navigating between entries in the app. This is rather annoying and I can't find an option to turn it off.

The only option I see on the web site ("Auto Play") stops it from automatically advancing to the next episode of a show, and doesn't affect the automatic previews. Searching around I found a few others complaining about the behavior on the web site over the years (without a fix) but not the Android TV app yet.

Has anyone found a way to stop this from happening?

Couple days ago I buy Toshiba 32LA2063DG. There is Android 9 on him and I didnt find on Toshiba site my model or anything on web where I can download update.

Accidentally entered to the restricted user. we forgot the pin! so can't go back!

so tried to reset factory the device!

but with a false help to use home + menu keys to enter the recovery mode! now remote is unpaired from the mi box s and can't pair it again!

so I can't exit restricted user, can't reset factory the device, and can't use the box anymore! I have a USB mouse and key. have a google account on the device. tried every pin I remember. tried iMyFone Lockwiper with a male-to-male USB-A connector, but nothing works...

I thought it has a reset factory hardware button at the beginning, but disappointed...

Can anyone who is using both the platforms share your views on universal search? Which device does a better job at searching content across all apps?

Have a Xiaomi Mi TV 4A (32'') and it has this annoying issue of randomly waking up from sleep mode.

If you set it to sleep, either with 1 click on the power button of the remote, or sleep timer, it ends up waking after some (random amount) time.

Need to shut it down every time to prevent this from happening

Just picked up a new Chromecast, YouTube is jerky when I set to 4K resolution. All videos, all resolutions. Totally fine in 1080p but I don't want to have to keep switching back and forth just to watch YouTube!

For comparison, all other apps work just fine, the issue is only on YouTube. Plugged my Chromecast Ultra back in to confirm and no issues there.

Anyone else seen this and had any success fixing it?

I've been running a rooted Android box the past couple of years and it's been fine. I know some people live those nvidia shields but are they that much better than a rooted gig Android box? What are some of the true differences?
