I get an echo/reverb effect when casting twitch and youtube in my nvidia shield. Maybe it's a bug when playing stereo through a 5.1 surround sound system?

It didn't use to do this. I saw other posts about it, but no replies.

Does AnyCast work the same way as Chromecast?

I sideloaded chrome to my TV and it works fine when I use it with a Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse.

However I would like to use it with only a keyboard and cannot figure out how to do it.

I can press control+l to enter a search term or a url but I cannot figure out how to execute the search as pressing enter on the keyboard does not do the trick.

Does anybidy have an idea?

I have vlc 3.3.4 both on my phone and on my tablet.

From my phone I can use vlc to cast videos to my TV,, from my tablet it does not work.

When I try with my tablet all I get is a blank screen with the video title.

Another app can successfully cast from my tablet, so it should work in principle...

Anyone with an idea what I could try?

My tablet is a rooted Amazon Fire HD 10.

So the same vlc version works from one device but not the other, but on the device where vlc cannot cast antother app can.

How is that possible?

Is there more than one way that I have to set CC to off? I have done it a bazillion times in settings and for the most part that works. 2 apps always show it no matter what I do. I don't see settings for it in the apps themselves. 🤔 on my phone I use force stop apps to kill things running in the background. It is not available on the TV. I had this on all tvs I've ever owned. More pronounced on some. Also depends somewhat on source material.

It's always when the camera pans over scenery ... Like a view from a chopper. Or a 360 showing surrounding area. Or the pan over the snowy mountains in LOTR.

The picture sort of stutters, cuts, becomes jerky, like it's half way stuck, and instead of a fluid movent of the picture, you get chop chop chop, with what feels like 5 frames Per second.

What is this called , and what settings can be played with to fix it, if any ?

Anyone have any suggestions for a "simple" (not too many buttons) remote?

It needs to be able to control the built-in Android TV on our Sony XBR TV. Bonus points if it's also a universal remote that can also control a receiver (power on/off and volume).

I recently switched from Xfinity to YouTube TV so the remote doesn't need a number pad. Just up down left right, Back, Home, Volume... etc.

Okay, so the title might sound weird because I tried to make it short... Let me explain.

I'm a software engineer, working on a media app as my day job, and such, use my Google TV Chromecast dongle not just for my own media consumption, but to test said app. This testing involves geo-locking, for which I need to use a VPN, and I solved this using a travel router that is configured to be a VPN gateway (basically, any device that connects to it is routed through the VPN connection, while the travel router connects to my own WiFi and acts as a repeater - but this is not important right now).

About 90% of the time, I'm connected to my home WiFi. This WiFi was configured automatically during the initial setup process, and works fine, password is remembered between reboots, it is automatically reconnected, and treated as a priority access point. Up until the moment I decide to manually connect to a different AP (in my case, the VPN hotspot). Once I connect to any other WiFi AP, this original AP is completely forgotten (does not appear in the WiFi list as "Saved", and when selected for connection, the password needs to be re-entered). This is the only WiFi configuration that does this, though.

I've tried multiple times to reset the device, to no avail. The first WiFi I connect to, the one you set up when you log in, is always "forgotten" when you connect to another. Any other WiFi AP is properly remembered and does not require the password to be re-entered.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? If yes, did you manage to solve it?

I feel like I’ve tried all of the popular options, none of them seem to work. At the very least I want to be able to turn my TV off with the googletv remote. Considering it’s a fairly common brand I’m surprised it’s not there. Thanks

I've tried using different media players like VLC, MXpro, and Kodi. But all videos from my external drive seem to only show green screens. No matter what file type it is. Help...

Edit: I've disabled hardware acceleration on VLC and it somehow works? But it's playing like a flipbook.

On the latest version (s) of Android/Google TV, any way to 100% remove suggestions/ads and have ONLY app icons. Nothing else.

I have an Nvidia shield and I see that the Sony app works on the Shield but I can only find a UK apk. It works perfectly other than it doesn't recognize my subscriptions because I need the Irish version of the app.

This would finally give me the one box solution.
