Hi All,

I'm considering getting the new chromecast with google tv. I am subscribed to a number of streaming apps that aren't available in my country without a vpn such HBO Max and Hulu. If I side load these apps to my chromecast will the google tv still recommend shows from these apps but I won't be able to play the episode or moview without turning on the vpn or would they just not appear in my recommendations at all?

Hi guys, newcomer to this sub reddit.

I've plugged my CCWGTV through a USB C hub and I've got a Logitech K400+ wireless keyboard with USB dongle connected to it, but cursor nor the keyboard inputs aren't working however the USB flash drives are detected perfectly.

The CCwGTV is using Gboard by default and I'm not sure how to configure it so that I can use my wireless keyboard as well

I've searched through past threads but can't seem to find a solution. If there is, please help to link it in comments.

Anyone here has experienced something similar and have a fix for this?

Hey, I have 2 mi-box S, which costed almost nothing and worth what they cost. and I am looking for a TV box that wroks, the mi box S totally works, but only about 90% of the time, sometimes youtube crashes and won't work untill you reboot sometimes apps freeze. I want to buy something with higher quality. what should I buy?

I have Sony Bravia KDL-43W800F and my tv automatically changed it's time twice. I had to set the time manually because the automatic time zone is greyed out. I think it's happening after the the recent software update. Is there a way to fix it?

I've been going at this for probably an hour but can't seem to figure out how to connect more than one speaker to the box. It does seem completely insane to me that it wouldn't be possible to do since they're from the same company and it seems like the most basic thing ever to connect TV with speakers.

So I have this problem every few months or so where I’ll be watching something in a streaming service and suddenly my tv just gets a pop-up saying “not connected to wifi”. The stream stops after a minute or so and I go to settings to reconnect (on home there’s also a notification that I need to connect to a network).

When I click wireless settings and let it search for networks it searches for a while but then nothing comes up. No networks at all (there are plenty around, normally).

What can I do to fix this? I don’t want to have to set up all my accounts again and again every time this happens.

So I just switched from smart youtube tv to next and when I go to sign in the user code dosent load in its stuck at "user code is loading" has anyone had the same issue or have a fix to it?

Bought a brand new TV and after setting it up and all. I checked out the netflix app, then suddenly it went black. Now whenever i turn off the tv & on again it won't display any vid. The sound is working, so is the google assistant as I can play music on it & open netflix. Plus turning it off.

I've been trying to find a way to display a local RTSP Camera stream in PiP over my other apps (Kodi, Netflix, Prime, YT ..).

When I use VLC's PiP, opening any other video in something else stops the camera stream, which makes it fairly useless. Is there a trick to prevent that ? I've seen a few threads on this but they're old-ish, I'm hoping there's finally a way to use PiP.

So it seems with the latest update, Walmart disabled connecting to adb via wifi. I keep getting "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. (10061)" error. Gonna need root now.

Update: ADB over wifi is disabled but Plugging the device into a usb port on my PC worked.

2nd Update: It was just that particular box that had adb over wifi disabled. I've tried it on 2 other boxes with no issue.

Is getting a streaming device really worth it? My TV can handle most 4k video with ease. The only reason I'm thinking of getting a streaming device is because my TV comes with webos and what you can do with it is SUPER limiting. And I'm not talking about something like nvidia shield pro which is like obviously better but also super expensive. I'm more talking about something like chromecast or fire tv cube.

Basically the title, I wanna control my android tv with my phones Google assistant and not the one on my tv if that makes sense. The nearest i got was realizing that i had to install Google home on my phone and then connect the tv but i dont think it is supported by android tv (it only supports Google tv AFAIK). Anyone have any ideas?

Needs to have:

-4K HDR video file support

-Be a screensaver app

-Work on Nvidia shield TV

-Access NAS network folder locally for file playback.

So, I just updated the tv and my dual shock original game pad controllers pair still, but doesn’t do anything. The tv does not react to the buttons. What’s up with that?

Why the heck can’t you hide the scores on the NFL Gamepass app on Android TV?

For the price we pay for the service it should be able to do something as simple as that.

I had an old s10+ with an broken display, so I decided rather than just throw it way; if I can use it as an android box, it should be more then enough powerful to render 4k and run most android apps and games.

So I got an USB c to hdmi; and it works perfectly fine. And for remote I just use my ds4 controller. The one and ONLY issue I have is the UI, it was obviously designed for touchscreen so it is kinda hard to navigate and the experience isn't as smooth as it could be.

So I was wondering if there's any way to install google tv os on my android phone? They both run android so I don't see it being impossible. And my galaxy s10+ hardware should be wayyyy better than any android box.

What are the current android boxes that support 4k at 120hz output?

If possible they need to have proper Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.

There's lots of post about mirroring or casting macs to Android tv but can I cast/mirror my Xioami Mi Box to my Mac?

Just wondering why androidtv on my old Sony tv has way more apps to choose from than my new Sony tv with Google tv. The only way around this is to search for the Play Store in the Google tv search bar. Why is there no Play Store in Google tv? Makes no sense to me.
