For those of you who are not seeing the volume control buttons on the new remote

Since the new remote came out ⁓2^(1/2) months ago, many people posted/commented that the volume control & mute buttons are not showing up/disappearing after pairing with their device.

It's not an issue with the app or your phone. It's an issue with your TV.

Different manufacturers handle HDMI-CEC differently, and some manufacturers (notably Samsung) doesn't allow external devices to control the internal volume via software remote.

YouTube stuttering in 2x speed

Hi, I have bought an Android TV (Semp) and YouTube keeps stuttering when in 2x speed. I tried using a Mi Stick TV which also has Android TV, and it works perfectly, no stuttering there (in the same TV). Is it some kind of configuration? I'm used to watching everything in 2x so this is a really important feature for me.

Thanks

Using Stadia Controller with Emulators wirelessly?

OK, so I already own a Stadia and Chromcast that I got a few months back. Works OK but not a fan of modern games, retro far more my thing.

So, I've been using the Stadia Controller connected to my phone and casting the screen, a bit clunky but it gets the job done.

Today I ordered the Chromecast with Google TV to make the whole thing a bit more seamless and also as I fancied a remote.

But from what I've read, you can't use the Stadia controller wirelessly and will have to plug it in to use with Android apps which seems daft. If that's the case, is there a controller that works wirelessly with BOTH Stadia and native Android apps?

Philips 4K HDR Android TV No longer shows HDR as an option

I bought a Philips Android TV about four months ago model number 65PFL5766/F7 and when I first got it I wanted many shows and the indicator even showed in info that it was running HDR now however everything from Netflix to Xbox Series S and PS5 says HDR is running but it clearly never changes. I've enabled EDID 2.0 with no changes on any and all HDMI ports and no matter what all apps and games when pressing the info button just says 2160p UHD. I know this use to work does anyone know what is wrong with my TV?

My TV wont start... it will it?

Hi,

So i have a TCL smart TV with Andoid (of course) that works almost perfectly, but sometimes (like 1 time a day), when i turn it on with the remote, nothing happens.

My way to "fix" this is to unplug the TV and plug it again, and then it starts normally.

However, when i go to the TV to unplug it, i can see that the screen is ON, but with a very, VERY dark blue color...

Did anyone exprience this?

Any tip or trick to fix it?

Thanks

Magic Remote

Before I switched to TCL, I used to have a LG TV with Magic Remote. That thing was so fluid and accurate it made controlling TV so easy, fast and fun. Is there anything like this for Android TVs? I have TCL 50C715.

Stable Firefox version to use?

Im trying to get Firefox installed on my chromecast w/ Google TV, and so far I got some version installed but it isnt really stable as in it doesnt render pages correctly. I know none of them are meant to use with google TV, but Im going to be using a wireless mouse/keyboard. Right now I use firefox on my phone with adblocker and I can use sites like fmovies, crackstreams, bufstreams etc. I tried TV Bro and it doesnt block any ads at all so I want the same thing on my ccwgtv.

So does anyone have a Firefox Android version installed with Adblocker enabled (this can be done on firefox for android extensions)

Recent update added Google TV user profiles to log in - how to add users?

My Chromecast Google TV units around the house updated, presumably last night, and now offer users to log in. In each case the default options are myself as the manager of these devices, and "Kids". My wife's Google account was already added on most of these devices, yet I can't get her to be an option to log in via a user profile. I've tried removing and re-adding her account. Can't see anything else? Any ideas?

MiboxS alts?

I have 3 of these. I swear the S is worse than the original. Is the Google Device any better? From what I've seen, seems buggy too. I thought the Nexus player was slow and buggy... I'm sick of these Xioami boxes.

Thinking of just going to the Nvidia shield tv. What's a better replacement for the S in '22?

ARC soundbar issues with AndroidTV YouTube App

I have a Hisense 65a6g TV connected to a Samsung hwq60t soundbar via HDMI ARC. It works with the Spotify app and various other places but when I open up the YouTube app the sound stops working. When I turn off the soundbar, it switches back to the tv speakers and works but as soon as I turn it back on it goes quiet again. Do you have any idea of how to fix this? I believe this issue applies to my Nintendo Switch connected via the HDMI dock as well.

Does Android TV support AAC bluetooth?

Before the HISENSE ANDROID tv i currently own, I had an LG TV, which paired to my JBL speakers, had amazing audio. However on my Android TV, they sound kinda crappy, so I was wondering if it had to do with the codec, but I can't seem to change it on the developer options. Is there anyway to get the quality to be better?
