Have plenty of space but can't install any apps

by fouoifjefoijvnioviow

Does anyone know what to do - can't install any apps because of lack of free space but I have 100's of GBs free: https://imgur.com/a/CxbClcZ . Have tried clearing cache & data of many apps and Google Play Frameworks. Am looking to avoid title wipe if I can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think it's an issue with it being USB storage, not the inbuilt storage.

All the info I'm seeing suggests you can move apps to external storage, but possibly you cannot install them directly to it and must install first, then move it?

Set the USB storage as internal storage. WARNING ⚠️ IT'LL FORMAT THE USB SO COPY WHATEVER YOU WANT BEFORE HAND.

After this you'll get move files option which will move all media to this for formatted usb. The original internal storage will not be shown for saving media and will be used by system. Then you can set install on external storage as an option.

That usb will not work on other machines don't remove it, it'll be locked to that device. You need to format it again for using it normally.

There is a an option in Developer Options: Force Apps on External. Aftering turning on this option new apps will be installed on External usb

Something is off here, Internal shared storage should still read the same as the devcie storage and teh USB drive is showing not connected. I suspect the installer is looking for that drive. If this is a Chromecast with Google TV and you have recently done a restart you need to unplug it and plug it back in so it will recognize the drive again.
