Is there an app where you can view video statistics no matter what app is being used?

I have a question regarding the Auto Refresh Rate feature on Mi Box 3 (Android 8.0). I assume this is an inbuilt feature that isn’t able to be toggled on or off?

There is an option in display>screen resolution>auto switch to recommend resolution of tv. I have this switched off and locked at 1080p 50hz but I assume this is not related to the Auto Refresh Rate switching fixture.

I currently Kodi set up on Mi Box 3 with Auto Refresh enabled within Kodi. The refresh rate correctly changes according to the media being played.

This makes me assume that the Auto Refresh Rate Switching feature in the Mi Box 3 is not something you have to turn on to enable? Is this correct?

I have been really excited for this TV ever since I saw they were brining quantum dot technology to Android TV at a mid-level price range. No one else has done that before. At least not in North America.

My only problem is the pricing between the 50 inch and 55 inch is a big difference on Amazon. 50 inch is $421 and the 55 inch is $599.

All basic specs are identical from what I researched. Only difference is the size far as I can see. However I remember seeing somewhere a long time ago that last year's 50 inch H8F had way less local dimming zones than the 55 inch H8F.

So can anyone provide me with how many local dimming zones the 50 inch H8G and how many the 55 inch H8G have?

I have the 2017 Nvidia Shield. I usually use it mostly for streaming IPTV, YouTube or Chromecasting. Would it be worth it to upgrade to the new 2019 Shield Pro? What benefits?

I bought a MiBox 3 for obvious reasons but the playback of large 4K files always caused issues which in some cases is the reason it was tossed to the side and some people splashed the cash on a sheild on many threads across forums. Well I have not yet and persevered with the £34 buy

For my circumstance I seemed to have solved the 4K playback issues via online streaming

I assumed this was a media player issue as the apps were force closing and it was skipping frames and I was limited to what I could use as only a handful of apps delivered all formats of audio passthrough "essential"

After a lot of trial and error I found that EUMC was as good as it got but still not perfect at all

Next step I bought the ugreen usb ethernet adapter on Ebay for £8 "this changed nothing although some reddit comments suggested it solved the issue"

I then upgraded the original hdmi to an 18gb one - £5 on Amazon. This definitely helped early on but the judder did come in to play later In the streams but no force closing of the player at any time which had been happening

So I delved deeper in to reddit threads and specifically relating to Mi Box and Sony TVs "i am using an XF9005" and I found a reply to sub comment that suggested turning the motion flow and cinema setting offs this worked for him so I went in to the motion settings and turned off Motionflow and Film Mode on Low "initially off" I assume this would be the similar across motion settings on other brand tvs

Well hey presto this seems to have solved it!!

I last streamed a 12gb 4K HDR lossless Atmos episode with zero issues.. not possible before! and a 44gb 4K HDR Atmos movie before that

I will update on how it goes but I think this will stop me from shelling out £150 on a sheild for some time, Dolby vision is not great on the xf9005 unless player led processing is at play "I think this may only be possible on selected blu ray players and possibly apple TV so I will not miss that format

I will add an update if I run in to issues but looks like it works Hopefully this helps someone

I love the shieldtv and have been using it for a long time with very few issues. I like to use the ABC app to watch the news and live TV. For some reason the app is not working. I access the app and the menu loads up and then I am sent back to the Android main screen. Not sure what could be wrong. I stopped app, cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled to no avail. It worked today and now stopped. What else can I try?

Hello, I have searched extensively and have not been able to come up with an answer to my problem, I have an AndroidTV with Android 9 on it.

I can pair my bluetooth headphones to it, no problem. But the issue starts happening the next time when I want to use the headphones with the TV, it seems that there is no option to initiate a connection from the TV to the paired device. When I go into the paired device options on the TV I only have two options - Rename or Unpair.

The only way to use the headphones is to unpair from the TV and restart the pairing process and then it will connect and work until the next time the TV or headphones are turned on and I'll have to do this entire thing again.

Is there a way to initiate a connection from within the TV itself or how do I get rid of this problem. Thanks!

I was hoping someone could help me with the following conundrum. I have a Hisense H8 Android TV and noticed that all video apps (in this case Plex and Kodi) besides the native video player and Netflix are only able to play videos at 1080p resolution. Is this 'normal' or to be expected with Android TV or is there a possible workaround to this?

Hi guys, I am looking for a recommendation of a good VPN for Android TV.
For me, a critical feature is the kill switch. Basically this means that if the VPN loses connection, it will kill the internet connection entirely.

I was using VyprVPN but they removed this feature from Android TV, making it useless.

Any recommendation is welcome.

I have 'Mi Box s' and want to connect it to a flax utp cable. However, since there is no port for utp, I bought an embedded usb in an ethernet adapter (ugreen). It happens that the utp cable is a little wobbly and the connection is lost and returned briefly. That I can fit in somehow to make it more stable

Are there any ways to force the hdmi resution? Every time I adjust it to 1080p, for no good reason, when I turn off the screen (or restart the android TV) it then switches back to "auto" (and it goes to 720p),is there a way to force it to stay in full HD? Or to "remember" that display?

The standard app is optimised for a touchscreen so it's very complicated to manage it by using an IR remote. I'd like to install a different version (smart TV or the old android TV versions) but nothing works. Is there any way to make them work?

So, I'm looking to buy a media streaming device in order to watch movies and videos on my TV. I'm completely new to the topic and I'd like to gather some info before buying anything. I'd like to use the tipycal streaming services (e.g. netflix, amazon prime video, etc.) and stream my personal content via a Plex server, being able to use Kodi with plugins etc.

Now, I have no idea what the best option could be and I have no idea how much I should spend to get a decent device. Hope you could help me in deciding what to get. If you need any additional info in order to help me out feel free to ask.

For the last couple of weeks, I have found it turned on by itself in the morning a few times.

Does anybody have experienced that and have any idea how to fix that?
