Hey all i was just wondering if anyone had or currently has this android smart box for tv A95X R5 (ebay link).
If so would you recommend it or not, was it good for just watching netflix and stuff?
EDIT 1: I have the same problem with the microphone like in Jami, for some reason it doesn't pick up the microphone of the webcam but the microphone of the remote control, however, it stops working after a few seconds, It's so annoying!.
EDIT 2: Version 10.4.0.331160626.DR104_RC01 brought the icon launcher.
EDIT 3: I made a videocall on Duo with a family member, it has the Xiaomi Mi Box (MIBOX3) and a Logitech C270 webcam, I was able to confirm that the voice was picked up by the webcam's microphone instead of the remote's microphone!, which means, Google is giving support only to Logitech webcams for the moment, but I just hope they add support to other webcam brands in the future.
Today I was finally able to download and install Duo from the Play Store of my Ematic Jetstream device.
Official UVC webcam support was introduced in Android TV 9, However, the only devices that always have had support from the beginning were:
- The Nvidia Shield when it was released back in 2015.
- The original Mi Box when it was released with Android 6 in 2016.
- The Mi Box S when it was released with Android 8.1 in 2018.
Recommended UVC webcams are the Logitech C270 (720p), C615 (1080p) and C920 (1080p).
Here is a full list of UVC webcams:

And these are screenshots taken from my device:
Play store search result:
App description:
However, since this is still in BETA, the icon launcher is nowhere to be seen, so I had to lookup the app inside the system apps list:
Once the app opens up you are welcomed with this screen:
On the left you will see the recent contacts and on the right it appears a preview of the webcam. When you scroll down you will see all of your contacts already on Duo, but take into account that you must save your contacts into Google Contacts instead of your SIM Card, otherwise you won't see them listed there:
When you open a contact, you'll be presented with this screen:
Once the videocall starts, you'll see this:
And this when the videocall is answered:
The app also supports Picture in Picture (PiP), suitable for watching a video or playing a videogame with someone else. Once you are in the videocall, press the "home" button on the remote control and the other person's video stream will be placed at the bottom right (as usual) so we can open other apps, the "Sin titulo de programa" or "No program title" in english is an Android bug or issue Google must fix because on Jami it is the same, it should display "Videocall with Jhon" or something similar:
Hi everyone at r/AndroidTV
I'm launching the 2.0 version of my Screen Mirroring iOS app Replica and in this new version I added support for Android TV!
To celebrate this launch, the screen mirror to Android TV will be free for a limited period of time.
You can try it for free here
I'm also launching the app today on Product Hunt!
I'm working by myself on the app so it would be awesome if you can give me your honest feedback about it, thank you!
