Need box for offline playback of h265

by Cwesterfield

I have three android boxes in the house:

Device Where
Older Shield Living Room
Onn Android TV Bedroom
Onn Android TV Floating

Both Onn devices are the $20 variant.

The one in the bedroom is having the "remote can not connect" issue.

The floating one is the one I had hoped to take camping, but I'm not able to get it to play h265 files via a OTG connected Hard drive. It seems to bog it down a great deal.

Our main use in the house is Plex, Netflix, and Youtube. I could make the living room one our camping device, and then replace both the living room and bedroom devices, if that seems like the best choice. I have xbxo game pass as well, so if any boxes work well with that service.

What do you guys think would be the best route to get both a offline device and a new device for the bedroom?

###EDIT: Ordered a KM2 Plus to try for the floating device. If it works good with game pass xcloud I may get another. Thanks all!

I use onn 4k with Kodi installed and no probs to play h265. Try Kodi.

For your offline usage, you might want to get a device with a dedicated USB port, like the MeCool devices. IIRC the MeCool KM2 even has a USB3.0 port

What video player are you using??

You need to add a NAS to your network.
