I have the km2, I mainly use Netflix, prime, and Plex, but also some services that necessitate a VPN. The km2 has been good but I'm looking for something with more power for the future. On paper the Nvidia sounds great, but do you run in to restrictions with the name brand system? Is it not "unlocked" like the km2? Is there a better Netflix 4k Dolby certified option?
The Nvidia Shield is the only certified Android TV box with a fast enough SoC to run all kinds of game emulation, it also has some video and audio features not available in the other certified boxes, besides that, it shares the same Android TV capabilities, there is one box still not available for purchase that is close to the Shield in terms of connectivity and functionalities but it's still behind the power of the SoC in the Shield, the device is the Homatics Box R 4K Plus though Mecool is going to release a KM2 Pro version similar to the Box R but it's availability is still unknown.
