I was using a Google Chromecast with GTV on my old tv and used the photo gallery option for Ambient mode, this would show picture with date taken and location.
On our new Sony Bravia with built-in GTV the ambient mode does not show this info and I can't find it in the settings.
Not a big deal, but most of our photos are of our kids and we like to see how old they were at the time of the photo.
We ran into the same thing, coming from the CCWGTV dongle to a new Sony Bravia running on Google TV. I couldn't find an option.
I think it might be because the Sony TV uses a slightly older version of Android TV whereas the Chromecast dongle gets all updates right away since it's a direct Google product. I recall the dongle did not always have that date/location feature and that it came within the past year or so. Maybe we'll get it with a future TV firmware that also updates Android
One other annoyance I had was that my TV automatically dims once it goes into the photo ambient mode. I have an OLED model and that might be part of the burn in protection but I'm not sure. I did not find a way to disable that.
