Next door neighbours having issues with her TV so asked me round to look at it but I'm puzzled.
UK... Virgin broadband... Sony TV with android built in.
Cannobt connect via ethernet cable. Wireless says no Internet connection but some apps such as Netflix work. Others such as YouTube and Disney are saying no Internet connection and won't open up.
- Forget network and reconnect. (didn't work)
- Reset router/unplugged for 3minutes. Reboot TV. Reconnected it all up, still no connection.
- Swap ethernet cable with one of my own that's works... Nope.
- Connected to the Internet via my phone/WiFi. That worked fine. No issues.
- Unplug ethernet and connect TV via wifi. Still saying no Internet connection.
- Used my phone as hot-spot, wouldnt connect to my phone
- Connect TV to my network next door via WiFi. Again, no Internet connection.... Wtf!
So after all of that I reckon it's the TV. Just won't connect to anything. I'm stumped... Never seen it before.
Would a factory reset of the TV fix the issue? What's can it be? That's one thing I did not do. After an hr of messing around my neighbour got her firestick from her bedroom. Plugged it into the tv and it works as expected. So she's watching her shows via that instead of just android via the Sony tv
Try to Sync date and time manually instead network time...
