Is it possible to replace the default Live TV app that gets OTA channels from the antenna with one that has better functionality?
I upgraded from an older RokuTV to a newer TCL with Google TV and just assumed that some basic level of functionality would be the same, but my experience with whatever default app handles live TV has been bad.
Not only is it pretty ugly, but one of the nice features of the RokuTV was that it was always recording. So you could pause for up to 90 minutes just by hitting the pause button or rewind any time you wanted. The default Live TV app on this TCL Google TV has an option to pause live TV, but it's buried 5 layers deep in a menu and has terrible functionality.
I tried Live Channels as I saw it suggested here, but it doesn't seem to have anything like that at all.
So first I'm looking for a replacement for watching OTA TV, and second hoping that whatever replacement I can find will integrate well with the existing Google TV Live tab.
In my previous experience with the Live Channels app, it would pause live TV just fine just by simply pressing pause on your remote control. You MAY need to add extra external storage though depending on how much internal storage that TCL has. Most don't seem to have more than 4-6GB or so with space already used by the default apps. That won't provide much pause time.
