Android TV doesn’t need a Cleaner app right?

by totti2k2

I’m asking just to be sure. On my Firestick I have SD Maid Pro, which I use once a month. But I read that Android TV doesn’t need one bc it manages it by itself. I have the ONN UHD. Thanks in advance!

Neither does your phone, or probably any other device

Android/Apple OS in general do not need "cleaner" apps, most of those are just scams or adware.

Its just that PC users are not used to how those OS work and handle memory, which is different than PC/MacOS.

There are cases where App's misbehave or have memory leaks, so than those "cleaner" apps may help, yet those cases are rare these days.

So unless you can fix a specific bug/issue with a cleaner-app, all they do is make you feel better, while they make money off you via ads.

my TV (Hisense H8G) has an included 'TV Protector' app that lets you erase cache and 'optimize memory'. i don't think it does anything different than the 'clear cache' option buried in the settings menus. but it's a hell of a lot quicker to access and often fixes problems with apps complaining about storage needs so Android TV isn't doing a good enough job on its own in the background
