1st pic with android tv

FDisk80

None of those.

Just this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.efesser.flauncher

I want my apps, that's it.

wellthatwasrandomaf

The new interface sucks. Its just a giant ad. They did this to the shield tv as well.

Gongui

First one, I like the lists of new/recommended content per app.

Google tv launcher is slow to load, changing tabs and seems difficult for old people (I use a ccwgtv). Also removes the options to manage apps (stop, uninstall, etc) which is really useful when something freezes.

williansjose

For me, Chromecast with GTV.

RomitBD

None of these. Use a custom launcher like ATV

3 looks great . how did you do it on android 9

VinceBarter

The first one with the old interface, but you should consider setting a default launcher to something else. Recommend Flauncher

LargeFullStop

It's weird that option 3 is not pushed worldwide. Wonder what's stopping Google. Copyrights?

AndreaCicca

I would like to have the Google tv one because the new Android Tv launcher is a mess (especially with the search)

Itsemaumau

Well, if I look at the pictures, none of them.

My tv has the old android 9 look since I got it in October last year. How do I go about updating it to the newer one? Ive tried to contact Hisense south Africa via Facebook as I was previously advised,to no avail.

bassthrive

They’re all still so cluttered. I personally use the last one and turn off all the recommendations below the app tray. GTV is not as ugly as Amazon but worse than Roku or appletv. (I have two Hisense TVs and I’m just waiting for them to run slow enough to justify an external box)

MuhtarCx

I would say the second one. I am now on Leanbackonfire, quite happy, can recommend. Flauncher had horrible performance on my TV.

First one

SenseMakesNone

I have the 3rd one. It's all I've ever known. I'm on the home screen very rarely so wouldn't make a huge difference either way.

1 and 3 show more tiles so is better. 1 you can add shortcuts to apps on the horizontal and vertical side bar. I think Android TV 9 is more power efficient as since updating my TS4k there is a slight lag in navigating to the playstore updates and it does not stay connected to 5g wifi, I may have to try a 1.5amp power brick to see if it helps with the 5g connection, my hunch is this is the way. I still think Android 9 is still more power efficient than Android 10 as all Android 9 dongles use 1amp power bricks but the GoogleTV Chromecast uses a 1.5amp one but some US live TV apps are more stable on Android 10.

SnowTauren

Imo infinite horizontal scroll is a terrible design, I gave up and installed flauncher, never looked back.

The Google TV launcher needs to implement some aspects from the Android TV launcher:

- The clock at the top right

- The ability to add and remove channels

- The ability to move the channels up and down

- The ability to add all the apps we want as favorites instead of the limited space it currently has

- To have the apps organized separated by "apps" and "games" in the "see all" apps

- The launcher icons for the Play Store, Play Movies and TV, Play Games and the Live Channels apps.

Among other little things.

tomashen

whichever runs the smoothest and fastest.

MGS2345

GoogleTV (Sony x95J) because I use YouTube TV and the guide is integrated right into the homescreen

Still love the new Android TV tho. Have that setup in the bedroom (Shield TV pro) but now def prefer GoogleTV

doinks4life

My Hisense H9G upgraded to Panel 3 and it seems to be the best mix of Google and Android TV

Google TV

I would never want to go back to old Android TV. Discover UI way is better to me.
