Any software for remote access To Android TV over the internet?

by enchained

I'm going to order Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (2022) with Android TV 11 and I was wondering, what is the best software for remote access and control of it? I need it to be able to help out parents remotely in case something doesn't work properly. I've only heard about TeamViewer, but I'm not sure if it would work with TV OS, and there were some issues reported in general. Are there any other options?

Just to be clear - I'm not asking about those remote control apps for playback, since they don't show the screen and work on home network only.

Anydesk works well. But it does have a drawback. The remote control plug in messes with some features, at least on the CCwGTV.

You can't reorder apps in the stock launcher when the plugin is enabled because it overrides the dpad navigation somehow. Everything else seemed to work.

If you're using it to screen share and let them doing the clicking, it wouldn't have any issue.

Anydesk, TeamViewer, splashtop. Although they may require additional plugins to give you full remote control.

And really they are only for remote access for things like configuration. You can't really watch anything remotely using a remote access software

Depends on the kind of help your parents need. I'd simply open/forward a secret port to 55555 to adb over the internet. The rest is quite straightforward
