I have the exact same issue on Sony TV with Google TV OS. I have BBC iPlayer ver. 0.4.5
I've seen Ver 0.4.7-Dev, but I'm not sure if that version is legit.
Currently having the same issue.
Happening on mine as well on a mi box s. Does not happen on a mi tv stick though.
Cannot find any newer versions from the one I have. Increasing the screen saver time out did help.
Can't fix until app is updated. Workaround is to increase screensaver time in settings, or disable it all together, in developer options checking "stay awake".
