Can an Xiomi Mi box S handle 4k HDR big files ?

Hi,

Just wanted to know if the hardwareof this product can handle 4k HDR movies via usb (on a harddrive) in general and for instance 50 gigs files ? In local or via streaming ? Using VLC or KODI for instance

The Mi Box S is using an old SoC (S905X) so I recommend buying a box with a not too old one like the S905X2 and above, recommendations are as follows:

My guess is it should be able too. From my memory I believe the decoders in the MiBox/MiboxS can only handle 4K30P max if the video file is encoded in AVC, and only 4K60P if files are in HEVC format. Better subreddit to ask in is r/MiBox.
