I cant play any dolby vision video files...

I have a tcl c715 tv which has its own media player but some dumbass software engineer has made it so u cant play any files from storage, and can only play from usb, for example if u go to file manager and click on mp4 file, it will show MX player, vlc etc but not local player

I was trying to play my dolby vision content by smb file sharing from windows, i can view all files in my x-plore file manager which supports smb but i cant play it.

Kodi support DV but very poor performance and frame drops
Just player just freezes up whole tv and i have to pull the plug
plex show up in file play menu but it just opens to home screen and doesnt play my file
and keeps asking me to setup server -_-

Dolby Vision files in mp4 format don't really play well. The tend to freeze up. Run them through Mkvtoolnix to remux to mkv. Players like Just Player should work fine then.

MX Player. It'll literally run everything. Also add the video on a matroska container just like the other guy said.

Have you tried the VLC app? I have no issues with my TCL R646, but it's Google TV. You can flash a ROM / firmware, worst case scenario

If Just Player isn’t working for you sideload the most recent 6.0.xx build of Nova. It plays DV no problem.

Did u ever find a good video player?
I have a tcl i think p615 and the subtitles are barely visible in default video player.
Other ones are either not opening up or buggy as hell

You can try to use Nova Video Player for SMB (like file explorer) and to play your videos with Just Player! Working perfectly with DV and DA files (.mkv file) especially because nova doesn't recognize Dolby Atmos every time.

download "Just Video Player" from the google app store
