Mi box 4k or Mi stick (India)

by Za_Weeb

Need a recommendation from ya guys!

I have an old Micromax 1080p TV and want to buy one of the above till I buy a smart TV for big billion day sale or anything (around 6 7 months)

Which should I go with? The stick or the box? Hesitating for the stick because its only 1 gb ram and guessing might be slow and is 1k cheaper Mi box is 4k Rs and the stick is 3k.

Usage: Ott, Any TV app like jiotv for cable, side loading apps for other content. Not too heavy usage.

Thought of firestick but didn't want to be limited without the play store and amazon eco system. These seems to be the best options in India for cheap

Neither...go with Xiaomi TV Stick 4K

GravityDead

Have used 2-3 androidtv dongles and few TVs with inbuilt androidtv.

Won't suggest android boxes/sticks to anyone at all when Amazon's 4K stick is available at around ₹4000 itself, unless one really needs the stick/box for some BS tinkering they think they will do with it. In that case, you would be better off buying some Chinese knockoff boxes.

4K stick is much more smoother to use than the sticks/boxes at that price range. The only feature I missed was able to set my Google photos as Screensaver (through a paid third party app though), or to be able to cast photos from Google photos. Apart from that, firestick is any day better, especially with that advanced remote of theirs. No forced dedicated Netflix button and is able to control your TV and external soundbar with just one remote, even without the hdmi cec. That remote itself is a huge winner.

Get the 4K version of the stick, doesn't matter if you own a 4k TV or not unless you are getting a good deal/discount on an android TV stick.
