No but your play store will only show Apps meant for Android TV, not the full play store.
Yeah, Mavtv doesn't have an app for Android TV.
The best you can do is cast the phone app to your TV.
Google is the culprit, the manufacture would not pay the gild.
Apps availability in the Play Store whether it's on mobile or TV depends on:
- Region
- OS version
- Developer's decision to have an app available only in a particular device or exclude a platform in particular (like Android TV).
- Agreements between the developer and Google
- Agreements between the OEM and Google
If you don't see an app in the Play Store is usually by the first three.
