Last time I checked a few months ago the version of google tv on ios is is not compatible as a remote with android or google tv. If this I'd not the case now make sure that you have the latest app on your google tv.

I have a chromecast with Google tv. I have a iPhone X latest updates with Google TV and Google Home app installed. My chromecast with Google tv is also updated to latest version.
But I can’t use my phone as a remote with my Google tv. In the Google home app it is saying that I need to update my chromecast (already latest version). And the Google tv app on my phone doesn’t show any devices. So I can’t set it up.
A old app from Google called android tv is working. But that app sometimes loses its connection. A quick restart from the app fixes this. But I would really like to use the new Google tv app with the remote.
Anyone have any clue on what I am missing or how I can fix it?
