Hi everyone, I have a Sony A80J with Google TV and I‘m trying to hook up my surround sound system via USB but so far I had no success. Does anyone know if I have to use a specific USB port or enable a certain setting? (Or am I SOL)

What make and model stereo?
You mean like in, you want surround audio via usb to your soundbar?
No thats not working, even with a ShieldTV getting surround sound to work via USB is buggy as hell. I don't think any TV support this and most streaming stick's/boxes at best offer a pcm stereo option for high quality music playback.
So you need to use either hdmi e/ARC, spdif or Bluetooth.
