I have enabled Developer options and MTP but my pc still doesn't see the device. I am trying to run ADB to get rid of the bloatware and install a spectrum tv app (it says the app is unavailable). Also is there a way to just root it?

I want to install Linux on stream tv and then setup pihole. I am struggling to root it. Anyone has luck rooting stream tv? I tried kingroot and it is stuck at 1%
Adb over wifi would be the easiest way to connect.
