I have a TCL 5 series 4K Google TV with the latest updates. The input lag from pressing the assistant button to it being ready to listen can often get into 5-10 seconds. It's so bad that when I want to submit a feedback through the UI it times out.
If that's not the worst UX idk what is. Does anyone have the same issue? I haven't tried resetting the device yet.
I have the very same issue so i started to use google assistant through my google nest audio and not specifically on the tv. I very rarely use it for those purposes. Ive been toying with some developer options that seemingly help with lag reduction. I think the android TV build has a VERY aggressive doze function and will totally shutdown apps in the background if left idle, google assistant included.
I Dont use Google assistant, I only use app mode only and go in the apps I want, no issues tho
