You're so lucky you're on Android TV. Google tv is so overrated
That's an interesting question. I like the less cluttered "Discovery" UI but also like the live guide feature & upcoming Profiles of Google tv. Not sure if they plan to run the Discovery UI alongside GoogleTV indefinitely or if they will roll everything to GoogleTV.
There isn't much precedent for devices switching to Google TV. When Google TV was announced, Google made it seem like many devices would eventually switch but we aren't seeing that at all. Really the only change is Google making the Android TV launcher look a little more like Google TV.

Hopefully. I really like Google TV.
They could do profiles without changing to Google TV. I don't expect to see it but hopefully the don't saddle us with Google TV.
