Simple streamer needed

by Churator

Looking for simple streamer for my office TV, at the moment not even 4K (But will be one day I guess)

No AV system, just TV speakers. I need Netflix/Tivimate/Kodi.

I've read about those:

  1. FireStick 4K (Max not required I guess) - Ads and Amazon stuff
  2. CCwGTV - less preferred then Firestick ?
  3. ONN - Great, but inaccessible for non-US (Such myself)
  4. H96 Max - Looks nice, Android 11. Not sure if netflix certified

What Should I go with ? option 1 seems reasonable.

Any addition that I've missed ?

If you don’t really care for dolby vision support it’s definitely $20 Onn. Pretty much plays everything you can throw at it

However you can also consider Tivo 4k that’s available on amazon

Xiaomi stick 4k - pretty cheap, high performance, support dolby. Perfect for your needs.

CC+GTV, no contest. Cheap, works, simple.

H96 Max (and similar devices from non-mainstream brands) are not Android TV, they're boxes loaded with phone Android with some random software on top.

Sticks/dongles: CCwGTV, Realme TV stick, Xiaomi sticks, Anker Nebula Straming Dongle,

Boxes: Strong Leap S1 (or its rebranding, Mecool KM2), Nokia Streaming Box 8000.

Beware of Mecool devices: only some of them (KD3, KD5, KM2) have Netflix certification, check each model for this support.

NVidia Shield TV would probably be an overkill in your case. However, it would of course work great.

See also this list for more.

IMHO CCwGTV is the best of all, it is a certified android tv and also it has built-in chormecast which is so useful in many times.

Depending upon your Kodi usage (you own media or streaming), you may need more storage than most of the streamers provide. Most streamers only have 8 gigs of storage.

I use Kodi for my local media, and it takes up more than 6 gigs of storage, and that does not include the media itself. So, I have to use a device that has at least 32 gigs of internal storage. I have several terabytes of media on different network storage devices.
